2 Undergraduate degrees Bachelor of 3 Feb S A $26,500 Bachelor of with Honours 1 Feb E $26,500 Become a highly skilled, musically adaptable, creative musician. In this degree you are exposed to diverse musical styles including classical, contemporary and world music. Learn aural awareness, music theory, and music literature. Undertake ensemble work appropriate to your field of study. Study an instrument (including brass band instruments), voice, or composition, in either classical or jazz strands. Upon graduation you can apply for a graduate entry teacher preparation program. Second year: you have the option to divide your major between two areas. Elective study areas include: Composition Conducting Contemporary Keyboard Accompaniment Industry Studies Literature Technology Theory and Aural Studies Opera and al Theatre Studies Pedagogy performance by the applicant and the person in charge of the recording session. You may audition on more than one instrument; however, if successful, your offer will only be for one of your audition areas. It may also be possible to arrange live auditions during the year; OR as: an instrumentalist or vocalist. Graduates have a clear understanding of what is required by instrumental and vocal ensembles and companies, orchestras, theatre, media, the entertainment industry and community arts. Pathways to further study Approved students who gain the required GPA in the Bachelor of program will be eligible to transfer to the Bachelor of in Performance or Bachelor of in Composition. Students who progress to complete the Bachelor of (three year program) are not eligible for admission to the Bachelor of in Performance or the Bachelor of in Composition. Graduates will be eligible to apply for the Bachelor of with Honours or the Master of Studies program. Applicants are required to have a grade of 5 in Composition Study 6B. in: writing or arranging music for film, plays, television, concert performances, musical theatre or new technology multimedia. Gain valuable industry and professional experience through project studies and work-integrated learning courses. Bachelor of in Performance 4 Feb S F $26,500 Build on the skills and knowledge you gained in the Bachelor of. Develop advanced skills in classical or contemporary performance. Become equipped to perform solo, chamber music, orchestral music, ensemble music and work in diverse entertainment mediums. Only students who have completed the Bachelor of degree and met all Performance requirements can transfer into this program. Applicants are required to have a grade of 5 in Performance Study 6B or a minimum grade of 4 in Performance Study 6C. in: community arts; the entertainment industry; orchestras; performance companies and the theatre. 3 Studies Continuing Education Certificate in Studies 0.5 Feb S G $12,726 If your earlier studies in music have not been sufficient for entry into an undergraduate degree at the time of your audition, this program will prepare you for advanced studies in music. You will experience an intensive period of study focusing on your primary area of specialisation in performance or composition. You will also gain a solid grounding in the fundamentals of music theory and related musicianship skills.
