2 Women s Hope Mission The mission of Women s Hope Medical Clinic is twofold: First, Women s Hope Medical Clinic is a Christian ministry dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those facing an unplanned pregnancy. Second, Women s Hope Medical Clinic promotes the sanctity of human life and the benefits of healthy relationships and sexual integrity. The mission of Women s Hope Medical Clinic is to provide compassionate care that empowers informed choices and recognizes the value and uniqueness of each person. At Women s Hope, their vision is more than just to help people through a crisis situation. They want to meet individuals where they are, then empower and equip them to make vital progression in their lives. Women s Hope encourage these individuals to make lasting changes that will lead to physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. History In late 1982 a group of pro-life Christians in the Auburn/Opelika area began to talk about the critical need for a pregnancy care center in the community. Home prayer meetings were planned and carried out to seek God s guidance in establishing the first pregnancy care center in the area. Their plans were put into action and Sav-A-Life Auburn/Opelika opened for ministry in February God blessed the ministry with support sufficient to become a medical clinic in 1997 and take on the name of Women s Hope Medical Clinic. The clinic offers ultrasound services In it became evident that Women s Hope needed to move to a location that provided the privacy clients needed. Through a capital campaign the ministry was able to sell property, purchase new property, and build a new clinic on Stage Road in Auburn. In 2013, the clinic administered an average of 64 pregnancy tests per month. In 2014, that average climbed to 72, and in January 2015 Women s Hope administered a total of 122 pregnancy tests. 3 Programs As a medical clinic, Women s Hope is able to provide ultrasound and prenatal care for clients who might be considered abortionminded or abortion-vulnerable. Ultrasound is a very powerful tool to allow mothers to see the truth about the life inside of them. Last year, out of all clients who were considering abortion and who consented to an ultrasound, 86 percent changed their minds and chose life for their baby! Also, providing prenatal care up to 20 weeks allows the clinic to give support and encouragement to these expectant mothers in the early days of their pregnancy. In addition to limited ultrasound services, the clinic provides pregnancy testing, STD testing and treatment, prenatal care, educational classes, and life-skills classes. Classes cover topics such as parenting, resume writing, how to live on a budget and more. Listed below are some Parenting Education Programs provided by Women s Hope Medical Clinic. Earn While You Learn offers individualized video lessons for expecting parents as well as families with children of all ages. Family Matters classes focus on child issues and parenting skills to help build stronger families. Parent Talk is offered 3-4 times each year and is a lunch-time Earn While You Learn Program for adults. The Bridge is designed to teach life skills that help people grow spiritually, emotionally, and financially. In 2004, Women s Hope added STD testing to their medical services. 4 Overview Executive Director The Executive Director has full responsibility for Women s Hope Medical Clinic and the leadership of the organization s staff. Implementation of the policies and procedures as approved by the Board of Directors within the parameters of the medical clinic s budget will be led by the Executive Director. He or she will create a positive culture that benefits the mission of the organization and will be a strong advocate in the community for Women s Hope. Responsibilities The Executive Director will hold the following responsibilities: Administrative o Make prayer an integral part of the day-to-day operation of WHMC o Ensure standards of excellence and best practices are followed in all ministry areas o Provide leadership that ensures a working environment reflecting godly behavior, a welcoming environment for clients and guests, and teamwork amongst staff members in the two Auburn facilities and the Tuskegee satellite location. o Recruit, hire, and discharge employees as the need arises in conjunction with the clinic director and the personnel committee of the board of directors. o Conduct written and oral evaluations of staff on a yearly basis o Oversee the compilation of statistical reports, accurate record keeping and monthly reporting to the board o Coordinate a yearly calendar for the ministry and implementation of special events o Hold consistent meetings with staff to keep them apprised of client needs, staff needs and ministry progress o Attend all board meetings and present a monthly report o Coordinate the establishment of a yearly strategic plan for WHMC to include brainstorming and goal setting with the staff and board o Provide managerial guidance and supervision to all staff members o Maintain an attitude of and action toward continuous improvement for the mission. o Oversee, coordinate or delegate grant-writing opportunities o Oversee and coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of facilities o Serve as the primary contact with agencies such as CareNet, NIFLA, Choose Life, and ECFA (including its annual audit, updates and payments)

5 Development o Work with development staff to prepare and present to the board an annual operating plan for development activities within the community. o Evaluate effectiveness of these plans in order to define budget requirements and activities in the future. Current funding sources include monthly / annual donors, major donors, planned giving, churches, grants and special events. o Coordinate agency activities in support of the annual fundraising events o Participate in donor meetings with development staff as needed. o Report to the board of directors in a timely manner the monthly and annual progress, effectiveness, and efficiency of development programs conducted by WHMC. Identify problems in meeting objectives and recommend solutions. o Utilize and maintain a working knowledge of computer software programs specifically designed to facilitate accurate donor and prospect information. Employ a donor information system that ensures donor and prospect records and history are current, accurate, and timely o Ensure regular back-up of donor files and procedures for safeguarding donor and prospect database to ensure the protection, integrity, and confidentiality of historical data o Plan, conduct and work with the staff to execute major fundraising events, direct mailings, newsletters and any other correspondence each year Financial o Prepare an annual budget for WHMC with input from staff, present budget to the board for approval and manage to the approved budget. o Oversee and ensure that accurate and current financial records are kept and reported to the board monthly o Ensure securing of liability insurance, paying property taxes, filing annual audit and IRS Form 990 Public Relations o Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key contacts within the community including businesses, civic groups, churches and philanthropic prospects. o Represent WHMC in civic organizations and other public forums to enhance understanding and success of the mission. Seek out and secure speaking engagements for this purpose. o Work closely with staff members to develop the ministry s public relations and marketing efforts including, but not limited to, internet presence, promotional brochures, radio and television exposure, and community appearances by board, staff, and volunteers o Oversee promotional materials used in presenting the clinic to clients, community and churches.

6 Requirements A mature Christian faith demonstrating a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord Exhibit strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity Agree with and be willing to uphold the statement of principle, statement of faith, and policies of the clinic Bachelor s or Master s degree, preferably in a related field Minimum of two years of experience as a volunteer or employee in ministry Minimum of two years of experience in management with direct experience in supervising paid staff in an efficient and professional office Experience in marketing, fundraising, public relations or development Exhibit strong skills in interpersonal communication, public speaking, writing and effective media relations Ability to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, encouragement and direction for the staff members and volunteers Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and goals for the clinic Ability to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision a self-starter For more information, or to apply for this position, please contact Greg Barnes, President Laura Weaver, Senior Search Consultant (214) office@halftimetalent.com
