3 Event Background All European Rail Organizations require their fleets to perform with maximal efficiency, whilst minimizing operational costs. Locomotive and rolling stock spares are often difficult and timeconsuming to manage, especially if consumable and repairable part types are managed in different processes and systems. The Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) supply chain planning process that controls the flow of repairable parts is generally more complex and challenging than planning consumable parts. In this two-way supply chain there are several key points that must be managed: Ensuring new parts are not ordered simply to replace parts that are out for repair Understanding when to purchase replacement parts Deciding when to scrap parts Managing the combined MRO planning and purchasing processes Compare the value of both new and repaired parts kept in stock The Pan-European Railway Platform 2013 on the 11th June 2013 acts as a platform for practitioners and decision makers working in the MRO process to discuss and understand best practices and to take the chance to network and mingle with delegates from other European railway companies. Germany Room G403 Frankfurt Rhine-Main Airport (FRA) There are many national and international direct flights to Frankfurt Rhine-Main Airport. A quick tip for visitors arriving at Terminal 2: departing every minute, the Sky Line or the bus shuttle takes you to Terminal 1, from where all public transport services to Messe Frankfurt depart. Arriving at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) By train Every eight minutes an S 8 or S 9 suburban train (to Hanau/Offenbach Ost) leaves the station below Terminal 1, stopping at the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). From here you can follow the instructions below (Arriving at Frankfurt Central Station). By taxi A Taxi ride from the airport (FRA) to the seminar venue takes about 20 minutes. Arriving at Frankfurt Central Station By train From Frankfurt a. M. central station (Hauptbahnhof) take the suburban train. S3 direction Bad Soden (Taunus) Bahnhof or S4 direction Kronberg (Taunus) Bahnhof or S5 direction Friedrichsdorf Bahnhof or S6 direction Friedberg (Hessen) Bahnhof Disembark at the train stop Galluswarte (first stop). Leave the train station Galluswarte at exit Mainzer Landstraße (towards the rear of the train) Go from Mainzer car park Landstraße towards Kleyerstraße and continue passing the former Adlerwerke and a construction area on your left hand site. Turn left into Harry- Fuld-Straße and turn the first street right into Im Galluspark. Follow the street until street number 23. (10-15min walk) By taxi A Taxi ride from Frankfurt Central Station to the seminar venue takes about 10 minutes. By car Please use the underground car park at the back site of the building with entry at Weilburger Straße.

5 Guided Tour at S-Bahn Rhein-Main Since its opening in 2006 the ET workshop is one of the most modern railway vehicle workshops Germany. The workshop in close proximity to the transport hub Frankfurt / Main Central Station sets maintenance and upgrades all suburban trains to secure a reliable and safe local and regional passenger transport in the Rhein-Main area. We are looking forward to a very interesting guided tour from Mr. Andreas Stickler, who will guide us through the workshop and give us an insight into the maintenance processes at S-Bahn Rhein- Main. We will leave the seminar venue together at around 16:50 to head off to the S-Bahn Rhein Main for a guided tour through the workshop. The guided tour starts around and will take about 1,5h. The workshop is located a minutes walk away from the seminar venue, close to Frankfurt Central station. Depending on the weather, we will either be taking a walk or taxis to commute between the seminar venue and the workshop. It will be a relaxed evening in a leisure networking atmosphere with delicious food and good drinks, enjoying the famous skyline of Frankfurt a. M.
