1 SID Current Topic Series Forum: The Secrets and Art of Cyber Security Organised by : Singapore Institute of Directors in collaboration with PwC & Quann Date : Friday, 29 th July 2016 Time : 9.00 am to am (Registration at 8.15 am) Venue : Marina Mandarin Singapore CPD hrs : 2 hours SID Members : $98 (incl. GST) Non SID Members : $130 (incl. GST) Programme Outline: The Secrets and Art of Cyber Security Organisations are under relentless attack from cybercriminals who are getting more sophisticated and well-organised. Many businessesfail to rise to the challenge and pay the price with breaches that not only cost money but damage reputations.. Even those who implement cyber defence strategies that incorporate the latest technology can find that they are often inadequate; security is still breached. Many are starting to realise that cybersecurity is not just about technology - it has to be augmented with the right strategies, skills, tools and techniques. The Secrets and Art of Cyber Security event brings together information security experts and users to share their insights on cybersecurity trends and threats, and the key considerations in developing an effective enterprise cyber security plan. The speakers will also touch on how organisations have responded to cyber threats and incidents, and discuss, in particular, the role and responsibilities of the board in the area of cybersecurity. Programme: 8.15 am: Registration and Breakfast 9.00 am: Welcome Joyce Koh, Executive Director, SID 9.05 am: Mr. Paul Chong, Chairman, Quann Know your Adversaries Witness first-hand how easily hackers can manoeuvre within one s personal devices and organisation s networks, stealing personal information and maliciously attacking the organisation. Their ingenuity and sophistication know no bounds. Organisations need to "think like a bad guy and act as a good guy" to protect themselves from attacks that may lead to operational, reputational and financial loss. The Chairman of Quann will give participants a glimpse into the mind and motivations of hackers so that they can be better prepared for potential cyberattacks.
2 930 am: Mr. Low Huan Ping, Executive Vice President of Information Technology & Production, Singapore Press Holdings What happens when an organisation is attacked? It s not a matter of if but when. Mr. Low of Singapore Press Holdings shares his experience of how an organisation can experience and respond to cyber incidents, so as to contain the effects of an attack and enable an enterprise to return to business as usual am: Mr. Richard Moore, Managing Director and Group Head of Financial Crime & Security Services, DBS Bank How does an organisation prepare itself against cyber-attack? Prevention is better than cure. An organisation that has a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy will be able to mitigate threat exposure.. But how can an organisation develop such a strategy, bearing in mind the cost and operational impact? What are the policies and procedures that need to be in place? Mr. Moore of DBS Bank, will explain the considerations for developing an enterprise cyber security plan am: Panel discussion: Security starts from the top The C-suite and the board directors of most corporations now realise that cybersecurity is not just an IT issue, it is a critical business risk that requires their full attention. A panel of experts will discuss these questions: How should C-suite and board directors assess cyber risk and develop an appropriate strategy to manage that risk? What are practical ways for companies to take in protecting themselves? What are the specific responsibilities of the Chief Information Officer, Chief Risk Officer, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and other key senior executives? Moderator: Panellists: Ms Tan Yen Yen, Regional Vice President and Managing Director SAS South Asia Pacific 1. Mr Foo Siang-tse, Managing Director of Quann 2. Mr Low Huan Ping, Chief Information Officer of SPH, Board Member of M1 and ifast Corporation Ltd 3. Mr Vincent Loy, Partner, PwC 4.
