AIRPORT INFORMATION Frankfurt International Airport - BY AIR: From Frankfurt Airport: Take the "S-Bahn" train (S 8 or S 9) headed to Frankfurt/Offenbach/Hanau. The journey takes around 15 minutes and you get off at the "Taunsanlage" BY RAIL: From the Frankfurt Main Train Station "Hauptbahnhof": Take an "S-Bahn" train (S 1 - S 9) and exit at the first stop which will be "Taunsanlage" Page 1 of 7

2 BY CAR: Take the A 66 and exit at "Miquelalle", or take the A5 at "Westkreuz" and exit onto the A 648 in the direction of Frankfurt. Follow the signs to Frankfurt and then the signs to the main station (Hauptbahnhof). You then turn left into "Mainzer Landstraße". Then turn right into "Taunusanlage". Turn left onto the "Kaiserstraße" then left again onto the "Neue Mainzer Strasse". Follow the Neue Mainzer Strasse until the road makes a sharp curve and be sure to stay in the right hand lane. At the intersection immediately after the sharp curve turn right onto the "Junghofstrasse". A public parking garage is located about 50 meters on the left hand side. If you would like to park in the parking garage in the Main tower, take an immediate right into the "Neue Schlesingergasse". BANKING ATM Cash Machines: ATM s are located at most banks. The nearest ATM is located on the 2nd floor in the Main Tower. 5 To make a call to another city in Germany you will need to use the city code. For example: a call to Munich would need to be called using the city code prefix for Munich which is 089, then the number. If you call to Frankfurt from another city in Germany then you would need to dial 069 and then the number. Local calls in the same city code do not require the city code prefix, just the number. To dial abroad from Germany first dial 00 international access code then the country code followed by the local code. These are sold in many different denominations but normally as 10, 15, 20, or 50 cards. The card will be pre-charged to the value shown on the card face. Callers can then use the card to call from almost any touch tone telephone or phone box to call either domestic or international numbers. MOBILE PHONES: If you are traveling to Germany from Europe check to see if your network provider has a reciprocal arrangement with a German based network that allows you to use your mobile. For travelers from the USA the situation is more complicated. If your US service provider uses the GSM system, it will probably run on the 1900 band. For your phone to work it needs to have a tri-band facility and your provider needs to have a reciprocal arrangement with a German network. PUBLIC PHONES: Most public phones will be pink or in some areas yellow. Most public phones no longer take coins, only credit cards or pre-paid cards. RESTAURANTS Restaurant guide - SHOPPING Shops and offices are open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 20:00. The vast majority of shops are open on Saturdays from about 10:00 to 20:00. All supermarkets are closed on Sundays. Currently supermarkets do not open 24-hours a day in Germany except the supermarket at the Frankfurt Airport. TRANSPORT SERVICES Page 5 of 7

The parking guidance system within the city indicates the amount of spaces free for each particular parking garage. The parking system also indicates directions to the next available parking garage. VISA / PASSPORTS & IMMIGRATION VISAS / Registration: For a stay of longer than 3 months, it is a legal requirement for everyone in Germany to register his or her address "Anmeldung" within 7 days of moving. The form is also required to open a bank account. You can register either at the "Zentrale Bürgeramt" or, depending in which area you live, one of the local "Meldestelle". To register, you will need to take your passport and complete a form "Anmeldungsformular" which will be given to you at reception. When you leave the address you also have to de-register "Abmeldung" or if moving within the Frankfurt area "Ummeldung". This can be done at the same offices before you leave, or you can also de-register by letter to the relevant office once you have left. 7 Waiting times can be quite long; a ticket queuing system is in operation and the earlier you can get there the better. Residency Permit - Citizens of EU, EFTA, EEA States For a stay of less than 3 months, no permit is required. For stays of longer than 3 months a residency permit is necessary. It is possible to apply for the residency permit 3 days after first registering your address. The form can be obtained from the Zentrale Bürgeramt when you register your address and you also need to take along a valid passport or ID card, 2 passport photos and a copy of your employment contract, if applicable. Residency/Work Permit - Citizens on Non-EU, EFTA, EEA States For citizens of non-eu states, the appropriate permits will need to be applied for prior to arrival. This can be done at the German Embassy/Consulate in their home country. LOST or STOLEN PASSPORTS: If your passport is lost or has been stolen, it is important that you report this to the local police, and your responsible embassy.
