The event will be held at the Főnix Arena from 14 to 20 March, This information will assist you in planning your trip to Debrecen and to apply for media accreditation to cover the event. Every effort will be made to ensure journalists have all the appropriate facilities necessary to work at the event. 3 Media Accreditation Information All media must apply for media accreditation through the ISU online media accreditation system on the International Skating Union (ISU) website ( under «Media Accreditation». The total number of accredited media representatives will be subject to space available. The OC and ISU reserve the right to refuse accreditation should the number of applications exceed given space. All media will be requested to upload a copy of their professional media card and a.jpg photograph. If not in possession of a professional media card, a comment should be added to the note box provided. The deadline to apply is Accreditation will be granted to professional journalists and photographers only. Up to a total of two (2) journalists and one (1) photographer per publication are welcome to apply. Major wire services and newspapers may submit a request for two (2) photographers, however, only one (1) photographer is allowed at the rink-side. Rights holding TV and radio must also apply for accreditation via the ISU online media accreditation system. Access to the Right Holders area is restricted, therefore Right Holders are invited to contact the ISU in order to obtain a username and password. 5 Reservation Payment Conditions Please be advised that all the reservations have to be made directly between individual media persons and the hotel. It is the responsibility of the individual media persons to book their own accommodation and to take on any cancellation fees. The payment will be done according the instructions of the hotel payment policy. Transportation to Debrecen BY PLANE These locations are considered as the official arrival/departure points for the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships a) Debrecen Airport (DEB) ( ) (Wizz Air operates three new routes from its Debrecen base to Brussels Charleroi, Malmo and Paris Beauvais. Frequencies on its existing popular Debrecen services to London Luton, Eindhoven and Milano (Bergamo) will be increased.) b) To Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport (BUD) ( Based on the information sent to the Organizing Committee (logistics@jwc2016debrecen.hu) one week before arrival transfer service will be provided (by collecting passangers time by time) from the following places of arrival: Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport (BUD), Debrecen Airport (DEB). Price for a one way ticket (daytime) Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport to Debrecen 25 Euro. Price for a one way ticket (daytime) Debrecen Airport to Debrecen Official Media Hotel 10 Euro. Minimum 48 hours before your departure from Debrecen you should report the Organizing Committee (logistics@jwc2016debrecen.hu) about your wish to book a bus ticket from Debrecen to Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport or to Debrecen Airport. 5 p a g e

(Debrecen is about 220 km from Budapest.) b., BY TRAIN Debrecen can be reached either from Budapest Keleti or Budapest Nyugati Railway Station Travelling to Debrecen by train is quick and easy, mainly using the Intercity trains (IC). After getting off the Main station you can take taxi to get to the hotel. Getting in Citizens of EU- and EEA-member states may travel to Hungary without a visa. Family members of citizens of EEA Member States may also travel to Hungary without a visa if they received a residence card issued for family members of EEA citizens or a residence permit issued by any Schengen Member State. All the details of ticket sales can be found on the website of the event ( ) and on the website of Ticketpro ( Payment through Ticketpro is possible by credit cards (VISA, EC/MC and some of VISA Electron), in cash in the offices of Ticketpro and at the venue. Useful information TIPPING Accepted at 10% rate in restaurants, for taxi and other services, except if the "service charge" is already included in restaurant bills. WEATHER The climate in Hungary is quite moody. At spring time the average temperature is about 15 C. Weather in March is a bit unpredictable, often rainy and windy. CURRENCY The basic Hungarian currency unit is Forint (HUF). Foreign Currency can be exchanged for local money in banks and official exchange offices. In the hotels Euro is also accepted. PUBLIC TRANSPORT DKV Zrt. is responsible for the public transport in Debrecen. You can travel by buses, trolley-buses, trams in the city. ELECTRICITY The electric current in Hungary is 220V (230V), 50Hz. A two-pin plug system, familiar throughout Europe is used. BANKING, CREDIT CARDS Hungarian banks are open on weekdays from 08:00 AM to 17:00 PM. They are closed on Saturday and Sunday. There are plenty of ATMs for cash withdrawal, which operates 24 hours a day. Most major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard and Maestro can be used for payment in most shops and restaurants.
