Hendrik LOHSE, Director, IPER. «IPER the International Port Training Expert.» For over 35 years, the Port of Le Havre Authority has contributed actively to IPER, Institut Portuaire d'enseignement et de Recherche, a unique institution in our field. In order to foster experience sharing between port professionals, IPER offers seminars that are led by senior engineers and technicians from the Grand Port Maritime du Havre (GMPH), Normandy, France. We invite all professionals currently engaged in port activities to join us for a seminar at IPER: they will benefit from GMPH s knowhow and experience, and enhance their capability to apply their newly acquired competencies with a state of the art operational focus. IPER is fully aware that the global port scene is constantly changing and we apply an on-going adaptation process to guarantee utmost relevance to the latest needs of our trainees. 3 IPER Our expertise in maritime and port training Since 1977, the Port Institute for Education and Research (IPER) has contributed to the economic development of the Le Havre port area. The competencies and experience used and gathered have been directly injected into the engineering of our professional training courses. Over 8,000 professionals have attended IPER programmes and they have made its reputation in the world. IPER offers the widest portfolio of international port training programmes in the field, with over 30 seminars given every year in Le Havre as well as customized sessions organized abroad on request.
