2 EDITORIAL THE PORT INSTITUTE FOR EDUCATION AND RESEARCH (IPER) Dear Partners, As you know, in recent years, global trade has gathered relentless momentum and witnessed marked transformation in both the maritime and port sectors. To cope with such changes, professionals, such as yourselves, your staff and your teams, need to consolidate, update and develop their competencies. Institut Portuaire d Enseignement et de Recherche (IPER) will help you meet these new challenges! With over 38 years of experience, our Institute is considered as one of the leading actor in the world of training and research, has developed close partnerships with figureheads in the field such as IMO. Accordingly, two annual landmark events in the IPER academic calendar are organised under their aegis: the Advanced Programme in Port Operations & Management, and the Women in Port Management programme, which have both proved a great success among port executives around the world.
