7 Design of the master One week of industrial visits outside of France:GB,Netherlands,Portugal, Spain,Russia, Italy Scientific and technical modules on natural gas,gas compression, gas storage, transportation and distribution, design of gas networks, LNG, gas treatment, etc Modules in economics and marketing Elective course among the courses of the european programme ATHENS Two short personal projects related to the gas industry A six months industrial thesis in a foreign company for the french citizen ( Romania, India, Austria, Germany, Venezuela, Mexico, USA for exemple), in a french or a european company for the others Part of the courses are taught in french, part of them in english ECTS 7

8 3 years ago Due to the important development of gas industry, new international rules of trading, needs of many countries : creation of a master in gas management and strategy Partnership between AFG and La Sorbonne University First session addressed Chinese professionals, the second one will address european citizen 8

9 Design of the master Several industrial visits in France and Spain Courses in economy, finance, human resources,international negociation and contracts,mangement, strategy, project management, etc Technical overview of energy and gas industry A personal project related to the gas industry A five month professional thesis in a gas company All the training is delivered in english 9

10 remarks These two masters are offered to people having already an engineering or a management degree They proposed modules which number and topics are always in evolution They are managed and taught jointly by a professional association and an academic institution Their modules are simultaneously opened to seminars of continuing education The lecturers are professors, professionals of gas industry, experts The trainees are mentored by experts Many alumni are now recognized as excellent experts and managers 10

11 Today AFG strengthens its partnership with different professional associations in Europe: UK, Spain, Belgium, Italy and is ready to promote european master degrees focused on engineering, management, strategy and energy policy, which modules vary according to the circumstances, the needs of the companies and the policies of the countries like in a LEGO game Contacts exist already with european universities able to deliver jointly a master degree 11

12 Tomorrow To train more people in Europe for the world gas industry, it will be necessary to create a network in order to have a mutual recognition of modules and degrees, to share courses, experts, industrial visits, mentors and an accreditation of the best practices and trainings Marcogaz could be one incubator of this network AFG is going to introduce in its 2009 european congress in Lyon workshops to promote such projects 12
