2 THE POLE OF COMPETITIVENESS IN LOGISTICS OUR OBJECTIVE plays an essential role in the competitiveness of business firms and in the development of innovation throughout the territory. The pole of competitiveness especially aims at developing the logistics services and systems of the future, at providing an international visibility to competencies in logistics research and at determining and defining the tradecrafts for the logistics and supply chains of tomorrow. OUR VOCATION accompanies business enterprises and research teams in their projects of R&D and Innovation to increase their competitiveness. It advises them in order to have their projects labelled and financed and puts firms in contact with the research teams expert in the relevant fields. WHAT OFFERS TO ITS MEMBERS Associating your competences, your technologies, your researches with collaborations between innovatory enterprises and research laboratories to successfully conduct R&D projects; Accompaniment, assessment and submission of innovations and research in logistics for public and private financing (French and European), whilst maintaining the confidentiality and equilibrium of the consortiums; Running the network of business firms and research establishments by organising seminars, international missions, etc RESULTS (SINCE ITS CREATION IN JULY 2005 UP TO FEBRUARY 2010) 140 members; 70 R&D projects and 4 structural framework organisations labelled and lodged with financing commissions (ANR, FUI, FEDER, IPER, OSEO, PREDIT, Regional councils, etc.); 110 millions euros, with 40% of public financing. NOV@LOG INTERNATIONAL Since 2009, the Pole of Competitiveness in Logistics have been constructing an annual programme of development on an international basis, determined in collaboration with the business enterprises, universities and research centres that compose the Pole. This is articulated around several objectives: to develop the renown of Nov@log in Europe and internationally, to establish technological partnerships with foreign clusters, to organise joint missions of benchmarking with the member business enterprises. A pole of competitiveness is an association of enterprises, of SMEs, of research centres and training establishments which permanently monitors the technologies, economics and innovations necessary for research, development and innovation. A pole of competitiveness also proposes the formation of applied research consortiums and organises collective expertise for R&D projects.
