Over 130 pages Over 50 graphs & tables Comprehensive digital files Priced at 3,500 euros The global maritime satellite communications market grew by 4% in number of terminals and 10% in revenues at the satellite operator level in At present, the total size of the market is about 348,000 active and more than $760 million in revenues at the satellite operator level. Established MSS services and the fast developing VSAT business contributed to the overall growth of the maritime satellite communications market. In the next 12 months, a number of High Throughput Satellite systems (HTS) will be available in the maritime market, which will bring three times more capacity by the end of 2014 and six times more capacity by the end of This additional capacity will drastically change the supply/demand relation in the market, and will enable a range of new applications for the maritime community. Competition is becoming increasingly intensified at the eve of the HTS era. All major players are devoting themselves to locking in a maximum number of vessels. Satellite capacity revenues in the global maritime market will nearly double over the next decade, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7% over the 10-year period. The growth is expected to be driven mainly by increasing data consumption across all major maritime segments and the adoption of new generation broadband satellite services.
