Master Data Server Based on MDM Best suited if objective is to build the backbone for an enterprise-wide service-oriented architecture platform (ESA) master data in a heterogeneous system landscape containing multiple data representations is to be consolidated and harmonized flexibility is of paramount importance, e.g. connecting to new systems or new data models is a common requirement (e.g. due to acquisitions) Master Data Server Based on R/3 Suitable if a landscape mainly consists of SAP R/3 or mysap ERP all the client systems are homogeneously configured identification of duplicates and consolidation across systems is not an objective 39
