2 JOB SPECIFICATION POSITION : REPORTS TO : LOCATION : MARKETING MANAGER MANAGING DIRECTOR 36 Belair Road, Hawthorn, South Australia Responsibilities The Marketing Manager will be responsible for increasing revenues through the dealership network by developing and implementing an effective marketing and communications strategy. The role will include the delivery of a broad mix of marketing communications through the dealership channel including print, direct marketing, press advertising, outdoor media and digital marketing. Key job functions The Marketing Manager will :- communicate with manufacturers relating to marketing and advertising strategies to achieve sales potentials; manage and coordinate all marketing, advertising and promotional staff and activities; conduct market research to determine market requirements for existing and future products; analyse customer research, current market conditions and competitor information; develop and implement marketing plans and projects for new and existing products; manage the productivity of the marketing plans and projects; monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results; determine and manage the marketing budget; deliver marketing activity within agreed budget; develop pricing strategy; liaise with media and advertising agencies; implement dealership involvement in national advertising and sales promotion programmes; coordinate national leisure events including the booking of venues and hiring of temporary staff; ensure that the company follows guidelines for new vehicle releases; maintain/update customer and vehicle database; complete direct mail outs to clients for special events and product promotions; liaise with motoring clubs with a relationship with the manufacturers; take part in manufacturer training; maintain company intranet in line with company and manufacturer requirements. 3 JOB SPECIFICATION Powers/authority The Marketing Manager will :- have full power of authority for all necessary decisions required for the fulfilment of the tasks described under Key Job Functions; recruit and discipline staff in accordance with the company s human resources process; set budgets for marketing and sales targets; authorise use of vehicles for test drives. 4 PERSON SPECIFICATION Qualifications, training and experience business or marketing related degree or equivalent professional qualification; personal passion for automotive industry; a strong track record of developing and implementing the full marketing communications mix through either a retail, dealership or trade channel; experience in the automotive industry or experience with retail, high value goods within a comparable industry; experience across marketing mix including print, brochures, direct mail (on and offline), outdoor advertising, digital banners, pay-per-click ads; adept at briefing and managing agencies; a hands on, can-do attitude with an engaging personality; experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining marketing strategies; technical marketing skills; proven experience in customer and market research; relevant product and industry knowledge; experience with relevant software applications. Performance will be assessed on the following criteria :- excellent written and verbal communication skills; organisation and planning; problem analysis and problem solving; team leadership; formal presentation skills; persuasiveness; adaptability; innovation; judgment; decision making; stress tolerance; collaboration.
