CHARTER BUSINESS CUSTOM HOSTING MIGRATION INSTRUCTIONS

1 1. Go to 2. Enter the username that was provided to you in the letter and/or you received from Charter Business. 3. Enter your password by entering the letters Ch and the last eight digits of your Charter billing account number as noted on your invoice (e.g. Ch ). If you do not have this information readily accessible, you can request a new password by clicking on the Forgot password? link on the login page and a system generated secret will be sent to your current Charter Business address that was provided at account setup. You can type this secret into the secret field to change your password. Additionally, upon initial login into your account, you can change the password in the My Accounts section. If you do not have this information, please contact us at and ask the representative to reset your username and password. 4. At the top of the Customer Control Panel (CCP), click on All Domains you will now need to register a domain. 5. Start creating a new domain by selecting Register New Domain 6. In the Domain field provided, enter the custom domain name that you would like your customers to see when they receive an from you and/or visit your website. 7. Click Next

2 8. A list of domain name options will be displayed that includes the domain name that you entered as well as several similar alternatives. If the domain name that you entered is available, you may select it from the list provided. If the domain name that you entered is not available, you may select one of the other, similar options from the list provided or click cancel to return to the previous screen. Leave all other fields on the screen blank 9. Once you have selected a domain name, click Next 10. Select the required Subscription period (1 year) and click Next Leave all other fields on the screen blank 11. Click Confirm Order Leave all other fields on the screen blank

3 12. The newly created domain appears on the All Domains and Hosting > Configuration & Administration > Domain Overview > Domain Administration screens. 13. Click on the domain name you have registered. 14. In the section Web Hosting, click Add Hosting. 15. On the screen that appears, click Next to accept the default options presented. Hosting: Website (Apache) Subscription: Starter (the subscription shown will depend on which hosting subscription you have)

4 16. Click Next on the next screen to accept the default options presented. Attach to existing Web space: Web space Location: / (this is the default location where your content has been moved) 17. Click Finish to complete Add Hosting. 18. In the section Mail Hosting, click Add Hosting. 19. Click Next on the next screen to accept the default options presented. Hosting: Microsoft Exchange Subscription: Starter (the subscription shown will depend on which hosting subscription the customer has)

5 20. Click Finish to complete Add Mail Hosting. 21. You will need to create a mailbox in the new domain for each address. a. Select Exchange from the navigational bar on the left. In this interface you can add, delete and modify your accounts. 22. Now that you have selected Exchange, click on Mailboxes. 23. Next click on Add New Mailboxes to begin creating your new Enter the name you would like recipients of your s to see in the Display Name field. Enter the beginning of the address in example johnd@example.com. Enter your preferred password in the Password, and Confirm Password fields. Note: It is not necessary to click Generate new password. 25. Click on Next.

6 26. On this screen click Finish and you will have successfully created your new At the top of the Customer s Control Panel (CCP), the customer will click on Hosting. 28. At the bottom of the menu on the left, click Migration. Inside the main body of the CCP the customer will be presented with two options: Migrate My Redirect My Web space

7 29. Click on Migrate My 30. Fill out the form with the following information:» Address (i.e. The Password for Address» The New Address replacing (i.e. The New Address Password 31. Click Migrate My » What Does the Tool Do? Moves any messages and folders from mailbox into the New Address provided in the form. Enables Forwarding from address to the New Address provided in the form. Disables the ability to login to address; forwarding is enabled.

8 32. Once the is successfully migrated, they will see the following screen. NOTE: This process may take several minutes depending on the number of messages/folders that are in mailbox. 33. You can now click Home to return them to the Migration Home Screen. 34. Click on Redirect My Web space 35. Fill out the form with the following information:» charterinternet.com FTP username (i.e. The Password for their charterinternet.com FTP username» New Domain Name (i.e. newdomain.com) 36. Click Redirect My Webspace» What Does the Tool Do? The tool will set a redirect so that anyone who visits will automatically be redirected to your new domain webpage. All content from the charterinternet.com webspace will be moved over. Thank you, you have now completed all steps to migrate your and/or website content to the Charter Business platform.
