2 What is a WooRank Report? This report provides a review of the key factors that influence the SEO and usability of your website.the homepage rank is a grade on a 100-point scale that represents your Internet Marketing Effectiveness. The algorithm is based on 70 criteria including search engine data, website structure, site performance and others. A rank lower than 40 means that there are a lot of areas to improve. A rank above 70 is a good mark and means that your website is probably well optimized. Internal pages are ranked on a scale of A+ through E and are based on an analysis of nearly 30 criteria. Our reports provide actionable advice to improve a site's business objectives.

3 SEO Title Tag The title tag is the text that shows at the top of the browser window. A good title tag is explicit, contains important keywords, and is between 10 and 70 characters. Meta Description A Meta description is the description shown below your page s link in a search engine, like Google. A good description acts as a potential organic advertisement and encourages the viewer to click through to your site. Headings It is important to ensure that every page uses heading tags (<H1> to <H6>). Effective headings include the most important site keywords, starting with the <H1> tag. Keyword Consistency Being consistent with the use of keywords is important when trying to increase the chance of ranking well in search results for specific keywords. Keywords are most effective when used in different areas of a page, including: the page URL, title tag, Meta description, header tags, alt tags, body content, etc. ALT Attribute Alternative text (ALT tags), is used to describe images to give the search engines more information on what the images are. Alt tags are useful for appearing in Google Images search results. More importantly, they are helpful to the visually impaired. Text/HTML Ratio A text/html ratio between 25% and 70% is ideal for ranking well in search results. Too little text content will tell search engines that the page is not as useful; too much text content will run the risk of being considered spam. Indexed Pages This is the number of pages on your website that are indexed in search engines. It is important to have as many pages as possible indexed, as this gives your site a better chance of being found. If your index pages/ total number of pages on your site is low, there is likely an issue. Backlinks Backlinks are links that point to your website from other websites. In search engines, they are like letters of recommendation for your site. The more popular the site back-linking to your page, the better. The quantity and quality of backlinks is crucial to SEO. Robots.txt A robots.txt file allows you to restrict access to search engine robots, preventing them access to specific directories and pages. It also specifies where the XML sitemap file is located. XML Sitemap A sitemap lists URLS that are available to search engines and can includes information that allows search engines to crawl the site more intelligently, like your site s latest updates. URL Rewrite (Structure) Clean URLs are important for SEO as well as for usability. An example of a clean URL would be: Blog Blogs are a great way to engage with your audience and increase online visibility by attracting qualified traffic from new sources.

4 Mobile Mobile Friendliness It is important to have a well-configured website for visitors who access your page on mobile devices. Mobile Friendliness refers to the usability aspects of your mobile website, which Google uses as a ranking signal in mobile search results. Mobile Rendering Mobile rendering refers to what your website looks like on mobile devices (smartphones and tablets). It is important to optimize your website to look good on smaller screens, as mobile web usage continues to climb every year. Touchscreen Readiness Buttons and links should have large enough tap areas so that your visitors can press them easily. Mobile Compatibility Special types of web content, such as Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight, or Java, cannot be accessed on many mobile devices. It is important to make sure none of these are used on your website s mobile version, as to make it more accessible for users. Font Size Legibility Proper font size and font spacing is crucial for the mobile web, to allow your visitors to see your content. Mobile Viewport A mobile viewport optimizes pages to display well on mobile devices. Without a viewport, mobile devices will typically render the standard desktop screen width, making it very difficult to see.

5 Usability Custom 404 Page Users come across 404 error pages for various reasons, most of them out of your control. It happens when the site s server is down, the page does not exist, a link is broken, the page has been moved to a different address, etc. The generic 404 error pages generally do not tell the user what to do next, which can deter them from continuing to view your website. A custom 404 page attempts to rectify these issues by directing the user back to the rest of the site. Conversion Forms There are different types of conversions, such as: getting the address of your visitors, requesting your visitors to fill in a form or closing an online sale. Converting visitors into prospects/clients is probably the most important target for your website. So, it is important that you optimize your website to boost conversions. Above the Fold Content Above the fold Content refers to the top section of a webpage that is visible without having to scroll. Placing the most important content above the fold makes sure visitors always see the most crucial information. Page Size Page size affects the speed of your website. Obviously, the faster the page, the better. Too many images or JavaScript files are the main reasons for an increase in page size. Load Time Load time is the time it takes for a page to load. Load time varies depending on page size, your website s hosting server speed, and it s location, relative to the user. Printability Having a special print-friendly CSS style sheet, which is responsible for styling your webpage when a visitor prints your website page, ensures that unnecessary interface designs and images are left out. This will make the printed pages more readable and save the user lots of ink.

6 Technologies Speed Tips Website speed has a huge impact on performance, affecting user experience, conversion rates and even rankings. By reducing page load-times, users are less likely to get distracted and the search engines are more likely to reward you by ranking your pages higher in the SERPs. Conversion rates are far higher for websites that load faster than their slower competitors. Analytics Web analytics let you measure visitor activity on your website From how many unique visitors, your most popular pages, how long the average visitor spends on your website, to where your traffic is coming from. The most popular Analytics tool is Google Analytics. W3C Validity Use valid markup that contains no errors. Syntax errors can make your page difficult for search engines to index. SSL Secure Using an SSL certificate creates a secure, encrypted connection between your visitor s browser and your website s server, adding an extra layer of security. In 2014, Google announced that HTTPS would become part of their ranking algorithm, making it important for SEO as well. Social Social Shareability The impact of social media can be huge. Creating a consistent fan base through social media venues that are of interest to your customers can bring a lot more targeted traffic to your website. Traffic Rank A low rank means that your website gets a lot of visitors. Your Alexa Rank is a good estimate of the worldwide traffic to your website, although it is not 100 percent accurate.
