11 EUROPA DISTRIBUTION WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY JUNE 17, Imperial Palace, Berlioz A&B Speakers RELEASES OF SHORT ANIMATION FILMS PROGRAMS GRÉGOIRE MARCHAL, KMBO, FR Grégoire Marchal studied political Sciences in Toulouse and has also a degree in journalism. He started to work in theatrical distribution for EQUATION. After 2 years, he joined Vladimir Kokh, CEO of KMBO, to develop the new company, for which he is head of distribution since KMBO has developed animated short films programs for children (especially pre-school program) with a lof of educative documents. After 8 years the company has released more than 50 feature films. KMBO is releasing every year 2-3 animated programs for children. RELEASES OF THE TALE OF PRINCESS KAGUYA AND THE WIND RISES ANNEMIE DEGRSYSE, Lumière Publishing, BE Joined the company in 2003 as producer and acquisitions consultant, after having quit Flanders Image, the official promotion organisation for Flanders, Belgium, where she functioned as General Manager. Annemie Degryse studied film animation at the - at the time - largest Belgian animation school KASK - Ghent. After having been the director of the Raoul Servais foundation where she produced short animated films, she organized Carrefour and distributed short films. Before joining Flanders Image she worked as project manager and production dossier coordinator for CARTOON, the European Animation organisation supported by the Media Programme. NILLE ELVIN STORMOEN, Arthaus, NO Nille Elvin Stormoen joined Arthaus in August 2014 as Head of Press and Communication, and also partly as functioning Head of Marketing since January She s previously been working at The Norwegian Short Film Festival, and also at the distribution company Europafilm. She studied Arts Management at BI The Norwegian School of Mangement and Urban Sociology at Goldsmiths, University of London. 11

12 OPEN PANEL in partnership with MIFA - Reaching the top with low budgets: Resourceful strategies for animation films from production to exhibition WEDNESDAY JUNE 17, Imperial Palace, Ravel A&B Moderator CHRISTOPHE ERBES, FR After some scientific research in Montreal (Canada), Christophe worked for Canal+ International in Paris. He was then responsible for the kids and short films department at PREMIERE in Hamburg before becoming Head of Programs at S-RTL/Disney in Cologne. After being Head of Programs and Deputy Managing Director of NICKELODEON Germany, he was Managing Director at Fox Kids / Jetix in Madrid, London and Munich. Since 2006, Christophe is an international children media consultant, e.g. for Orange, Ubisoft, EBU, MFG Baden-Württemberg, and host of many festivals and conferences like MIP/MIPCOM, Annecy, ITFS, Cartoon... He s member of the board of the German Kids Films support association and studied at the German Kids Media Academy in 2008/09. Under the pseudonym Theo de Marcousin, Christophe is a published kids books author (e.g. the international bestseller OSCAR AND HOO picture books, together with Oscar Winner Michael Dudok de Wit, see on FaceBook Oscar & Hoo), a script writer and a free lance project developer (e.g. for Technicolor, Mago, Kool Productions, Studio100, E1 ). Speakers GUILLAUME HELLOUIN,TeamTo, FR Guillaume Hellouin explores the boundaries of digital visual FX by establishing the CGI division of a video post-production house in 1990, before becoming the Head of Productions at Medialab Paris. In 1994, he creates a full-service 3D animation and digital effects facility named Sparx*. Within the next 10 years, Sparx* grows to become one of the largest and most awarded animation studio in Europe. In 2005, Guillaume co-founds TeamTO an independent animation studio composed of a passionate team that puts all of its energy into producing TV and film projects with an international appeal, and with high quality standards. TeamTO is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year in style with the release of its first animated feature: YELLOWBIRD. The movie was launched nationwide on over 200 screens in France, and throughout the world following a great international distribution placement. 12

13 SOLVEIG LANGELAND, Sola Media, DE Solveig Langeland has about 15 years of vast experience in the film business and worked in acquisition, theatrical distribution, international sales and coproductions in Norway and Germany. In 2004 she founded the international film sales company Sola Media with the intention to bring quality family films to a global market place. She has a business background with an MBA degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles with a focus on marketing & finance. Her vast experience in sales and marketing includes working in such different industries as banking, automobile, computer and film. ADELINE MARGUERON, Le Parc Distribution, BE Le Parc Distribution is a part of the cultural center «les Grignoux» based in Liège, French-speaking Belgium. Les Grignoux run eight screens in three different theaters in the city centre in Liège and soon (end of 2015) five screens in one theater in Namur. They also organise the activity «Ecran large sur tableau noir» ("Wide screen on blackboard»), that proposes several movies shown during school matinées. The distribution is a growing activity. Le Parc distributes each year 6 to 8 films, mainly animation movies, but also documentaries and sometimes long feature films. Since January, Le Parc released «Capelito et ses amis», «Les Règles du jeu», «Le Garçon et le Monde», «Le Petit Monde de Leo», «Yellowbird» and «Voyage en Chine». Adeline Margueron has been responsible for the distribution for one year and has been working with les Grignoux for four years. She holds a history and a cinema degree from the French university. MARCO GENTIL, Cinéma Le Méliès, FR Marco Gentil, 40 years-old, is in charge of Young Audience and Education to Image in Film for Le Méliès cinema in Grenoble. Le Méliès is a cinema classified art et essai and benefits (amongst others) of the Jeune Public label. Marco is also the programmer and organiser of young audience festival VOIR ENSEMBLE. 13

Since its creation, Europa Distribution has accompanied and reinforced the integration and collaboration process between its members through information, and brainstorming and training sessions. The network s aim is to strengthen the European existing ties to improve the curation, promotion and distribution of independent films. With more than 140 leading independent distributors representing 28 countries in Europe and beyond, it serves as the VOICE OF THE SECTOR and acts as a NETWORK and a THINK TANK. Ursula Meier is the President of Honor of the Association. The Board of Administration, chaired by Laurent Dutoit (Agora Films / Switzerland) and Jakub Duszynski (Gutek Film / Poland) is composed of 13 independent European distributors, representative in terms of nationality, type of structure, and cultural diversity.
