2 THE TOOL FAIR III ACTIVITIES PLANNING From the 5 th till the 9 th of November 2008, in Santa Cruz de La Palma, the Canary Island known as La Isla Bonita, 75 participants from 29 countries, including the MEDA, the Eastern Europe and Caucasus, the South East Europe and the EU countries for the Youth in Action Programme participated in this IIIrd Edition From the Cosmic Learning and the non formal learning, through the Educational Tools and the Lifelong Learning, the participants learn more about the Euromed e learning community, the finished version of the EUROMED Game and, finally, experienced, shared, reflected and developed during two days 42 tools, until finishing producing more than 44 proposals for further cooperation Comparing with previous editions of the Tool Fair, some changes were introduced, as the clasification and distribution of tools and experiences in the following categories: - Generic Tools - Thematic Tools - Innovation in Tools - Tools for Specific Target Groups - Tools for EVS and for YOUTHPASS The Final Programme resulted as follows:

8 MINISTERIO During the following days, the participants were distributed in the differents rooms located in the CLUB NAUTICO Tool Fair III La Palma (ES) 5th to 9th of November 2008.

9 And last day, they moved to the CASINO, not to play, but to share and to build together

10 The TF3 in action Concerning the logistical organisation, a private enterprise was provided by the Canary Government, to facilitate the support aspects for the Tool Fair development. The day before the arrival day, a room was prepared in the Hotel H10 Taburiente Playa, just five minutes driving from the airport, were the team arranged the last details for the participant s documentation, bags and folders, as well as the last details for the activities planning (as shown in previous chapter of this report). A registration desk was organised by the team in front of this room, facilitating the participants the updated programme plus the needed information to start with the event. Everyday, two guaguas (local buses) pick the participants up, just after breakfast, and transported them to Santa Cruz de La Palma, leaving them in a bus stop. After a short walk, the participants arrived to the differente places (Teatro Chico, Club Nautico, Casino) where the different activities were developed. During morning and afternoon a coffee break was served in the different places. The midday lunch was served in a restaurant, not far than 5 minutes walking from the venues. The dinner was served in different places, according the day and the planning: hotel, rural tourism venue, restaurant All the transportations were coordinated between the support team and the TF3 team. At least other three coordination meetings were done, involving the guess NA s, as well as bilateral coordination meetings between the TF3 team and the support team or with the representative for the Canary Government, in terms of protocol meetings. During the first day, translation services Spanish English Spanish were provided for the local authorities and local community, in terms of facilitating the impact, visibility and valorisation of the event in La Palma: one national TV channel (Antena 3), three local TV channels, two radios and three regional newspapers follow the TF3 up. The introduction of the EUROMED GAME and the SALTO EUROMED E LEARNING Community supposed an added value, in terms of active participation and interest focused on the Salto Euromed activities. The intercultural evening was hosted in the restaurant of the hotel, so the space was enough and adequated, with all the needs covered by the hotel staff. The workshops were developed in four different rooms in the venue called Club Nautico, in three different floors, which caused some confussion in the participants during the change of workshops, mainly due to the lack of attention to the registration procedure proposed by the team: some participants did not registered themselves the day before, as asked by the team, and it resulted in a very difficult distribution of workshops by rooms, done just half an hour before the starting time. The distribution of tools was as follows:

12 Final evaluation of the participants by a questionnaire. o o According the questionnaire results: The 81,81 % of the participants achieved to see examples of good practices. The 74,54 % achieved to have a reflection on the meaning and use of educational tools. The 78,18 % will be able to transfer educational tool in their practices The 78,18 % achieved to gain confidence to develop new tools The 63,63 % achieved to find partners. The 63,63 % considered the previous information (technical and contents) sufficent, on time and adequate. The 63,63 % considered the panel of workshops adpated to their expectations. The 85,45 % thought that the programme set up was appropiate to the topic of the Tool Fair III. The 81,81 % thought that the atmosphere created was appropiate to share tools/ideas. Concerning the working conditions: Very Good Good Bad Very Bad Welcome 80 % 19 % 1 % Accommodation 83,63 % 16,37 % Food 76,36 % 21,82 % 1,82 % Indication signs 80 % 12,73 % 7,27 % Info about daily programme 61,83 % 29,09 % 5,45 % 3,63 % Staff availability 83,63 % 14,55 % 1,82 % Rooms and technical equ. 65,45 % 29,09 % 5,45 % 0,01 % The general comments by the participants could be resummed in three: - A high level of quality in terms of organisation: perfect, as said by the main part of them - The lack of time to know each other (icebreakers, games, dynamics), including the need of a space for a permanent exhibition or a place for NGO s, organisations during the whole event - The lack of adequacy of the rooms for the workshops, in technical term, not about the atmosphere. Follow up: Two weeks after the end of the TF3, there is a fluent exchange of e mails, as well as visits to the Salto Euromed E Learning Community: at least the 50 % of the participants visited it. The tools and experiences presented are uploaded and the participants are using it actively. A total of 44 proposals were registered during the partner matching.
