1 Back to School Night for Grades K through 8 September 3, 2015 Dear Families, On Tuesday, September 15th at 6:30pm we will conduct our annual Back to School Night. This event is only for the parents of students in grades K thru 8. Below I have bulleted the information that you will need to make this evening a productive and enjoyable one. We will gather in the cafeteria at 6:30pm for a short meeting where you will be introduced to the staff. At the close of this meeting, you will then be directed to your child s classroom for a brief presentation on the instructional program. o For 5 th through 8 th grades you will receive a copy of your child s schedule when you report to their homeroom. You will follow this schedule for the evening (about 50 minutes). An announcement will be made or a bell will ring which signal class changes. o For Kindergarten through 4 th grade, you will report to your child s grade level classroom where the teacher will review the instructional program with you for about 15 minutes. We will be conducting three 15-minute sessions so that you may visit all of your children s teachers in the event you have more than one child attending the school. We ask that no children accompany you on this evening. We will not have babysitting available and children can become a distraction to the teachers as they make their presentations. I ask that you do not use this time to discuss your concerns about your child. If you feel that you need a conference with your child s teacher, please schedule a time that will ensure you the privacy and personal attention that you deserve. At an event such as this, the teacher is not able to give you the attention you may need to adequately address your concerns and the context is not conducive to private conversations. I look forward to seeing you! Respectfully, Dr. Alimenti Principal
