2 SA Health, Communicable Disease Control Branch (August 2014 ongoing) Business Analyst Sonya Weiser has been engaged to provide business analysis services for the Communicable Disease Control Branch of SA Health. Replacement of the Notifiable Infectious Disease Surveillance (NIDS) system is currently being assessed for feasibility. The management of notifiable infectious diseases is a core, mission critical function of SA Health. The NIDS system is a highly important tool supporting this function and is used to record, investigate, monitor and report on cases and trends of notifiable infectious diseases Services Weiser Solutions is providing include validation/confirmation of benefits, scope and requirements; preparation of a technical design baseline; testing and validation of assumptions, dependencies and risks identified to date; going to market to identify, select and evaluate vendors/providers; identifying the required organisational change management effort and approach; completing the business analysis required to accurately compare the effort, time, risk and costs associated with the options available to implement a replacement NIDS; and planning the implementation project phase. SA Health, Office of the Chief Executive (October 2014 December 2014) Business Analyst The Office of the Chief Executive in in SA Health engaged Sonya Weiser to prepare a Project Plan / Business Case for implementation of a new Policy Framework for SA Health. The overall objective of this project was to create one State-wide accessible source of truth for SA Health policies. Services provided as part of this project included analysis of requirements (at a high level) for a Policy Framework; setting of project scope, objectives and identifying expected benefits; testing and validation of assumptions, dependencies and risks identified to date. A Project Plan / Business Case document was prepared by Sonya for presentation to the SA Health Portfolio Executive, for approval to proceed with design and implementation of the new Policy Framework for SA Health. North Eastern Community Hospital (July 2014 December 2014) Website Tender Assistance Sonya provided assistance to the CEO of the Hospital with a formal Request for Tender process, to select a web development provider to replace the current website at minimal cost while meeting current and future requirements. Services included analysis of requirements, preparation of formal tender documents and evaluation of vendor responses with a report and recommendation provided by Weiser Solutions discussed at the hospital board meeting of October 21 st. Sonya also assisted the CEO with assessment of the service level agreement and assistance with initial project scoping and planning. 3 SA Health, Online Services Unit (November 2013 October 2014) Business Analyst Sonya Weiser was engaged to provide business analysis services for the SA Health Online Search Upgrade project. This project had two primary aspects; whole-of-site searches of the SA Health intranet and internet sites and improved access to policy, procedure and guideline documents. Services Sonya provided included facilitation of workshops with the Policy Framework group and Local Health Network stakeholders, analysis of State-wide, administrative and clinical policy categories, preparation of detailed business requirements and market research into website search solution options. Office of the Chief Information Officer, Security & Risk Assurance Directorate (August 2014) Facilitated a team planning one-day workshop, held in the SACA President s room, Adelaide Oval. The focus of this workshop was to develop teamwork principals and plan activities required for the final phase of the 3 year Cyber Risk Assurance Plan. A successful team-building day was conducted and a written report was provided to the Director immediately following the workshop. Office of the Chief Information Officer, Security & Risk Assurance Directorate (April 2014) Facilitated a one-day workshop to plan the final 12 month period of the Cyber Risk Assurance Plan. The leadership group of the Directorate met to discuss how the objectives of the South Australian government strategy SA Connected could be supported. A written report was provided to the Directorate immediately following the workshop. The workshop enabled the leadership team to re-prioritise objectives and re-distribute resources in line with the strategy of the Office of the CIO and the South Australian Government. Beaumont Tiles (March 2014) Following a successful project to map Beaumont Tile s operational business processes, Weiser Solutions was engaged to assist the Chief Information Officer with formulating a National IT Strategy. A concise document was prepared, using diagrams to illustrate how the IT strategy aligns with the overall corporate strategy and outlining the roadmap of IT projects planned to meet strategic goals. 4 Beaumont Tiles (September 2013 February 2014) A new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system was being planned, requiring business process mapping services to ensure that processes implemented in the new ERP system were as efficient and effective as possible. A number of workshops were held with operational areas of the business, out of which process flows were developed and delivered to the Chief Information Officer. Diagrams were prepared illustrating the current processes and a second set of diagrams of to be processes were prepared illustrating recommended changes to incorporate the new ERP system. Proposed to be business processes were presented to and approved by the executive management of Beaumont Tiles for adoption in the new ERP solution. SA Health, Online Services Unit (September 2012 to February 2014) Project Manager/Business Analyst Sonya was engaged to manage project and perform analysis tasks to ensure the upgrade of the SA Health online services environment to a high-availability platform. Includes liaison with internal and external providers; facilitation of project governance and documentation; preparation of detailed business requirements, business case and update of budget estimates. Coordinate and ensure delivery of detailed application, infrastructure and security designs; procurement, installation and configuration of hardware and operating systems; provide authenticated intranet access from outside the SA Health network. Women s and Children s Hospital Foundation (WCHF) (September 2013 December 2013) Strategic review of IT and test of the market for alternative options for ongoing support services from competitor providers. Included a high level review of the current technology in place at the WCHF, preparing a list of requirements for providers to address and assessing responses. A new provider was selected by WCHF as an outcome of the Request for Information and recommendations provided by Sonya Weiser on appropriate services to be sought by the WCHF from IT providers. Office of the Chief Information Officer, Security & Risk Assurance Directorate (March April 2013) Facilitated a workshop to review the Cyber Risk Assurance Plan. The leadership group of the Directorate met to discuss how limited resources could be used to best achieve the Cyber Risk Assurance objectives identified in the 3 year plan. A written report was provided to the Directorate immediately following the workshop. The workshop enabled the leadership team to re-prioritise objectives and re-distribute resources. 5 Silver Chain (RDNS) (October 2012 January 2013) Project Manager Business process mapping of existing financial processes of the Royal District Nursing Society (RDNS), following the merger of Silver Chain in WA with the organisation, with a view to aligning those processes and associated IT systems to those used by Silver Chain in WA. Sonya project managed services provided by a sub-contractor of Weiser Consulting. Sub-contractor business analyst assigned to the project successfully provided a full set of business process mapping diagrams to the Silver Chain financial team. Cora Barclay Centre (September October 2012) Review of the application for IT funding through a grant; assistance with preparation of tender documents; suggestions of vendors who might be invited to bid; and assistance with assessment of tender responses. Recommended a strategy suitable to the current circumstances of the Cora Barclay centre, helping the client find a way out of a difficult situation. Office of the Chief Information Officer, Security & Risk Assurance Directorate (July August 2012) The Security & Risk Assurance Directorate of the OCIO requested services to follow on form the Cyber Security Assurance Plan project. Sonya facilitated a full-day workshop in August to plan implementation of the Assurance Plan and a written report on workshop outcomes. Sonya provided clarity and insights into the implementation of projects and tasks required for the directorate to meet the aims of the Assurance Plan. Office of the Chief Information Officer, Security & Risk Assurance Directorate (April June 2012) Preparation of the future Cyber Security Assurance Plan for the OCIO. Facilitated full-day workshop, reported on workshop outcomes and assisted with preparation of Assurance Plan. Sonya s insights added an extra dimension to the Security & Risk Assurance directorate s strategic planning process and her approach will provide ongoing benefits. 6 Guide Dogs SA.NT (March 2012) Provided advice and assistance with assessment of responses to a tender by invitation for provision of ICT infrastructure support at Guide Dogs. Worked with a tender assessment panel to support Guide Dogs future strategic direction for ICT infrastructure and systems. Brecknock Insurance (October November 2011) Provided advice to the director of Brecknock Insurance for succession planning of management roles and capabilities analysis. This included development of a matrix of functions and activities undertaken in the management role which was under review. Provided the director with advice on options for succession planning. After receiving this advice he successfully managed transition for one of Brecknock s key management roles. National Centre for Vocational Education Research (January June 2011) Senior Business Analyst Business requirements analysis; existing state system documentation and future requirements for the Unique Student Identifier Commonwealth government project. Communicated with internal and external stakeholders to develop sound understanding of project and required changes. Initiated consultation with industry and government bodies in the Vocational Education sector. Supported Manager of NCVER Policy Support Unit in preparation of documents to be presented to Commonwealth government Vocational Education sector committees. Project deliverables included high level business requirements document and draft business case. Brecknock Insurance (2010) Performance review of current processes and procedures, particularly as regards use of standard letters and consistent communication to clients. Review of adherence to and consistent use of branding. Gap analysis comparing current performance to optimal processes and best use of current IT infrastructure, systems and databases. 7 Department for Families and Communities ( ) Project Manager/Business Analyst Implementation of a departmental-wide incident reporting and client feedback system. Facilitated communication of change impacting stakeholders across the department. Responsibilities included coordinating technical implementation of the system and involved stakeholders across the department, internal IT support and the external vendor. Use of a system throughout the department supports reporting by staff of accidents, incidents, hazards and client feedback. Ease of reporting facilitates timely provision of information to those responsible for instigating investigation and action. Housing SA ( ) Senior Business Analyst Developed multiple business cases for projects seeking to integrate various systems of Housing SA. Included high level business analysis of current systems and future needs of the organisation. Worked with staff of all areas of the organisation to determine strategic business capabilities. Strategic plan and process for system modernisation was developed, with a sustainable and well governed approach to system change management. SA Police ( ) Senior Business Analyst Facilitation of workshops & consultation with external stakeholders, to develop requirements supporting legislative change and coordination of user acceptance testing for introduction of online expiation payments system. Broad communication and consultation across SA Police, facilitating input from staff in multiple locations throughout South Australia. Introduction of online payment system for expiation improved data capture for administrative staff. Business case approved for new system which provides information about persons being brought into custody.
