2 About the Education Council The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) APAC (Asia Pacific) Education Council consists of members from Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) and Research Institute (RI) from the Asia Pacific region. This council will be responsible for providing guidance to CSA on areas to further efforts in cloud computing and cyber security education and research. Through the CSA APAC Education Council, CSA aims to contribute our research materials back to the IHLs for educational purposes, so as to build a new generation of cloud security advocates. At the same time, we hope that through our contributions, CSA can play a role in bridging the industry and the IHLs, thereby provide global alignment that will lead towards achieving a common vision and further add value to the industry. The CSA APAC Education Council also aims to leverage off the strength of CSA to build a cohesive effort across the Asia Pacific region to coordinate resources into research and development. This will deliver research artefacts which is built upon key tenets proposed by CSA, which aims to solve tomorrow s problem today. Research artefacts would be the inputs to the CSA APAC Innovation Initiative, an initiative that aims to identify key structural issues related to trust and security. The Innovation Initiative will help to inhibit the adoption of next generation information technology, articulate guiding principles and objectives that IT innovators must address. It also helps innovators to incubate technology solutions that align with our principles and address the systemic gaps we have identified based on the incubator ecosystem which CSA has built through various public-private partnerships, investment arm of CSA corporate members and private equity vehicles of CSA partners and members. Host The Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) was established in 2009 to provide more upgrading opportunities for Polytechnic upgraders to obtain industry-focused degrees. Through a unique tripartite collaboration with its overseas university partners and the five local Polytechnics, SIT welcomed its inaugural batch of 500 students enrolled in 10 degree programmes offered by 5 overseas university partners in September SIT seek to inject the SIT-DNA into the learning experience of its students, inspiring them to become thinking tinkerers and catalysts for transformation, with the ability to learn, unlearn and relearn; while ensuring that they are grounded in their community. These traits will make SIT graduates easily distinguishable from their peers.

3 On 28 March 2014, the SIT Act was gazetted and passed into legislation, officially making SIT Singapore s new autonomous university. Together with students enrolling into the degree programmes offered by its overseas university partners, SIT will also be welcoming its inaugural cohort of students for its own degree programmes in Academic Year For more information about SIT, please visit their official website at Organiser The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote the use of best practices for providing security assurance within Cloud Computing, and to provide education on the uses of Cloud Computing to help secure all other forms of computing. 20 Electricity Voltage The standard voltage in Singapore is 220V / 240V, 50Hz. If you have equipment that runs on a higher voltage, you should not connect it to Singaporean power unless you have the correct voltage adaptor. Power Plugs Singapore uses the British BS1363 three-pronged square pin type socket. Plugs from the US, Western and Eastern Europe, and Asia will not fit into a Singapore power plug. If you need a plug adaptor, we advise that you buy one before your arrival. Some hotels will be able to lend you an adaptor, but not all.
