Database Management Impulse User Manual Database Management Setting backup lcatin Frm Main Menu select Setup Statins. Select the Misc-7 tab. Select the Edit buttn. Frm the On-line Backup directry field. Select the brwse buttn and chse the drive and directry yu want yur backup stred in. Using MSDE the backup path must be a lcatin n the database server, database backups can nly be perfrmed frm the database server. Micrsft SQL Server cntains it s wn backup utilities. Select the Save Buttn then Select Clse. Perfrm a database backup All users must exit Impulse in rder t backup the Micrsft SQL database. Select Start All Prgrams MedNetwrk Impulse Utilities. Frm the Utilities cnsle select Huse Keeping Backup Database. Select OK at the Start Database Backup prmpt. When the backup is cmplete the bttm f the utilities cnsle will display Database backup has cmpleted. The backup prcess shuld cmplete within thirty t sixty secnds. Impulse User Manual Database Management Restre database RESTORE OF A MICROSOFT SQL DATABASE INVOLVES REMOVAL OF THE ACTIVE DATABASE FROM THE SERVER COMPUTER. PLEASE ENSURE THIS PROCESS IS CARRIED OUT BY AN INDIVIDULE WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF MS SQL DATABASES. MEDNETWORK SYSTEMS ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSS OF DATA. I. Remve active database Impulse des nt include any utilities fr the restre f Micrsft SQL databases. A MS SQL utility prgram such as Micrsft SQL Server Management Studi Express must be installed t restre data. SQL Server MSE is included in the Impulse installatin and can be installed frm C:\Prgram Files\MedNetwrk\Impulse\Database Management. Start SQL Server MSE by selecting Start All Prgrams Micrsft Micrsft SQL Server 2005 SQL Server Management Studi Express. Frm the Cnnect t Server windw select Cnnect. The Object Explrer will nw be ppulated, Expand the Databases branch and select the Secur@t database. Right click the Secur@t Database and select Delete. Frm the Delete Object windw highlight the Secur@t bject and ensure bth Delete Backup and Restre histry and Clse existing cnnectins are checked then select OK. II. Restre database Right click Databases frm the Object Explrer and select Restre Database. The Restre Database windw will pen. Frm the Surce fr Restre sectin select Frm device then select the Brwse buttn. Frm the Specify Backup windw select Add then brwse t the lcatin yur backup and select the latest.bak file and select OK. Frm the Object Explrer expand the Secur@t Database Expand the Security flder and select Users Right click the Divra user and select delete Select OK t delete the Object Right click in the Users windws and select New User Enter the User Name and Lgin Name as divra and select OK Clse the SQL Server MSE windw.
