When using the XW-SMA3, it is necessry to first connect the AC dpter to the unit (updting cnnot e performed when operting the unit using the uilt-in ttery). Disply the We Control menu. Choose the ccess method pproprite for your device. Using Sfri to ccess We Control 1. Strt the Sfri rowser on your computer. 2. Click on the ookmrk icon ( ) t the upper left of the screen. 3. Click on Bonjour list (), nd select this unit s friendly nme (). It is necessry to previously set Sfri to disply Bonjour. Using Microsoft Windows 7/Vist 1. Click on Strt Documents My Documents. 2. From the Explorer menu on the left side of the screen, select Network. This unit will pper s n icon connected to the sme 3. Right-click on this unit s icon nd select View device wepge. You should now e le to ccess the We Control menu. Using UPnP function to ccess We Control (fter connecting to the network) This unit supports UPnP. You cn ccess the We Control menu from UPnP-supported device connected to the sme network s this unit. Depending on your rowser nd its settings, the destintion selection window my not pper when downloding the fi rmwre file. In this cse, the fi le will e downloded utomticlly to the folder designted in your rowser settings. The firmwre file will e downloded in compressed zip formt. (Exmple) Compressed file nme: SMA2013NMP****.zip The four sterisks (****) indicte the version numer. 4. Open the downloded compressed file. Decompress the firmwre fi le nd store the contents in folder of your choosing. When the compressed file is decompressed, new folder will e creted nd the updted firmwre file (SMA2013NMP****.fw) will e stored in the new folder. For more informtion out how to decompress fi les, consult your softwre or computer deler. 5. Select firmwre updte. On the We Control menu, click on Firmwre Updte () followed y Strt (). The Firmwre Updte Prepre screen is displyed. If the screen does not switch utomticlly, click on Click Here. 6. Select the updte file. Click on the Choose File utton () nd select the fi rmwre file (SMA2013NMP****.fw) previously downloded, nd then click on the Uplod utton (). Then, press Yes on the confirmtion screen. Once the updte hs egun, it cnnot e cncelled. 7. Confirm tht the updte hs completed properly. When the updte hs egun, the updte process will e displyed. When the updte process finishes, follow the instructions on the screen nd unplug the power cord. If the updte process is not completed within ten minutes, try unplugging the unit, then repet the updte process. Cn t ply Pndor/Internet Rdio Cuse/Remedy When using Windows XP nd lter operting systems, zip-file extrctor is furnished s stndrd feture, llowing zip files to e treted s ordinry folders. From the Pioneer wesite, store the downloded firmwre folder (SMA2013NMP1050.zip) on your computer. Open the folder nd copy the firmwre file (SMA2013NMP1050.fw) locted inside the folder to your computer s desktop or other desired loction. Mc OS X nd lter operting systems llow compressed zip files to e treted s norml files. When you doule click on the downloded firmwre zip file (SMA2013NMP1050.zip), decompressed ordinry folder will e creted in the sme plce. Set your computer to llow Sfri to disply Bonjour. Is the unit s MUTE function enled? Turn off the MUTE function. Hs n error messge een generted? Check the ControlApp screen. If the unit is not connected to ControlApp, connect ControlApp to the unit once gin nd check the disply. If the ove steps do not rectify the prolem, try chnging the input, or turn the unit off nd on gin. When the power is turned on to this unit, it will not strt in Pndor/Internet Rdio mode. However, when the unit is set to Quick-Strt mode nd is currently in stndy mode, if one of the Internet Rdio or Pndor uttons is tpped, the unit s power will turn on nd Internet Rdio or Pndor modes will e selected. If the MUTE function is left enled for more thn 20 minutes, the unit is designed to utomticlly turn power off. If the MUTE function is disled or sound volume is rised, the utomtic power off function will e cncelled. For detils see the section Stopping rdio ply (P. 3). Pndor/Internet Rdio will continue to ply on the unit even fter closing ControlApp. In tht cse, however, ControlApp cnnot e operted.
