1 Overview of the SACM Itegratio Uderstadig IT Asset Lifecycle Maagemet The key goal of the SACM itegratio is to establish Asset Maager as the referece source for actively maaged IT assets - from the poit they are acquired ad recorded, to the time they are retired or writte off. The first step i maagig IT assets is to record details of ay ewly acquired hardware or software i Asset Maager, regardless of the meas by which it is acquired, (purchased, leased or otherwise), ad of the meas by which the details are recorded (maually, or automatically scaed...). HP Uiversal CMDB federatio allows Asset Maager data to be viewed ad leveraged by other HP Software solutios, such as HP Service Maager. This data is represeted as operatioal Cofiguratio Items (CIs). Eve whe the operatioal CI is withdraw from HP Uiversal CMDB, Asset Maager cotiues to maage the CI util it is physically retired. Referece source ad data owership Ay IT discovery tool (HP Discovery ad Depedecy Mappig Ivetory, Microsoft SCCM, home-grow tool...) that collects hardware ad software details, cofiguratio related or ot, should be cosidered a IT ivetory source for Asset Maager. It is the resposibility of Asset Maager to receive, iterrogate, ad accept the preseted discovery details as the 'Reviewed Authorized State' of the IT Asset. Whe accepted, the updated IT Asset will be accessible to HP Uiversal CMDB from the related CI usig a combiatio of federatio ad replicatio. Through HP Uiversal CMDB federatio, the CI relatioship allows CMS or ITSM processes to query, ad if appropriate, update the attributes i the Asset Maager repository. The Asset detail does ot eed to be moved or replicated to aother repository, such as HP Service Maager. However, performace may be a reaso to choose replicatio for commoly accessed attributes. A Asset record will typically be created i Asset Maager before a related CI is created i HP Uiversal CMDB - for example, whe a Data Ceter Server is leased or purchased but before it is cofigured ad istalled. Oce the CI is put ito operatio a Asset:CI relatioship is established - most of the cofiguratio attributes already exist i the Asset Maager repository. Proper user rights maagemet ad busiess process rules will allow to update the Asset record i HP Uiversal CMDB as appropriate through federatio. The Asset record will cotiue to exist whe the related CI is removed from operatioal service i HP Uiversal CMDB, such as whe the related IT Asset is retured to stock for potetial re-use. HP Coect-It uses the MySQL libmysql.dll library, but caot fid it i its default MySQL istallatio folder. You eed to copy libmysql.dll to a folder recogized by HP Coect-It: 1 Copy the <MySQL istallatio folder>\bi\libmysql.dll file. 2 Paste it i the <HP Coect-It istallatio folder>\bi folder or the <OS istallatio folder>\system32 folder.
