You will assist in implementation of new solutions including business analysis, system design, development, quality assurance and release management. The post holder will conduct all activities in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines. The post-holder will link in other functions in the CSU, as required, to ensure delivery of the Informatics roadmap. The role will work closely with the Business Intelligence Programme Manager to ensure that any new systems or ways of working are effectively transitioned into a business as usual model. The role represents an excellent opportunity to gain an understanding of the complete end-toend process of Business Intelligence solutions delivery. Page 1 of 5
MAIN DUTIES Create clear and concise project mandate/project Initiation Document (PID) documentation and ensure that all solutions are delivered to the agreed timescales and budget. Demonstrate strong leadership and coordination qualities under the direction of the Business Intelligence Programme Manager. Take a key role in development and execution of programme delivery policies and procedures Establish effective internal and external stakeholders engagement. Capitalises on both formal channels and informal networks to achieve goals. Lead on the change management process including support with business process redesign. Ensure that an effective communication strategy is adopted. Evaluate options using previous Business Intelligence/NHS knowledge. Demonstrate Business Intelligence solutions to a variety of audiences. Design training programme for Business Intelligence solutions delivery. Deliver training in Business Intelligence solutions to a variety of delegates. Provide early life support; ensure that benefit realisation process is completed. Responsible for working alongside the Business Intelligence team to design the look, feel and functionality of solutions with a focus on creating intuitive and user friendly interfaces. Work closely with CSU BI customers, both internal and external, to assist targeted product development. Ability to analyse, evaluate and synthesise highly complex data and information from a wide range of sources to achieve successful project initiation and delivery. Strong interpersonal skills are essential so that you can work closely with both your Business Intelligence colleagues and end users to create applications that can be successfully integrated into business as usual. Facilitate and coordinate delivery/stakeholder meetings. Provide reports and presentations to senior stakeholders and programme meetings including the Steering Group. Reports through agreed reporting lines on programme progress. Support research and production of options appraisals on new technologies, tools and standards and assist in the adoption of new methodologies and technologies for solution delivery. Ensure solutions are tested for accuracy, performance, data quality and resilience. Support software releases and upgrades. Organise own work and the work of allocated resources to maximise development productivity, quality and efficiency. Work with minimal supervision and use reporting tools/mechanisms mandated by Business Intelligence management. Travel to off-site venues, as required to deliver solutions, attend meetings, courses, conferences as designated. Undertake other duties as required as designated by line manager or other senior Business Intelligence managers. Understanding of Information Governance requirements.
