LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE With over 12 years experience, our Landscape Architecture course leaders strong industry links mean you can benefit from internships, work experience and employment opportunities at companies such as the NHS, BBC, Randall Thorp, TEP and many others. Over 100 opportunities are available every year, via the course s blog. FASHION DESIGN The international SuperGroup-owned brand Superdry has collaborated with the University to create a fashion degree that offers practical guidance and inspiration to young designers, not only through guest talks and Q&A sessions, but by offering work placements to students in their final year. The only Photojournalism degree in the UK with Creative Skillset Accreditation. Recent study trips for Advertising students included Shanghai, Paris and New York, working with brands like Converse, Superdry and Specialized. Illustration students have exhibited work at events such as Angouleme International Comic Festival in France, and the London Book Fair. Fine Art students can compete to receive a range of impressive awards, including the PJ Crook Award ( 1,000 toward materials), travel awards worth 600, opportunities to exhibit work in an Amsterdam gallery, and one month at the British School in Rome worth 2,500. It has two campuses based in the town of Cheltenham Spa, and one in the nearby historical city of Gloucester. In class we learned how to collect ideas. Our teacher prepared many different activities, such as photography, drawing and presenting. It was a very good way to learn. 22 INTO University of Gloucestershire 2016 2017 International Year One, and Combined Foundation and Undergraduate Year One Art, Design and Media The International Year One is equivalent to studying the first year of a UK undergraduate degree. Successful completion offers direct entry to the second year of an undergraduate degree in a range of subjects at the University of Gloucestershire. The Combined Foundation and Undergraduate Year One programme takes you from Foundation level entry and, following successful completion, offers direct entry to the second year of an undergraduate degree. This can save money on tuition fees and living expenses. The programme incorporates English language skills development, academic study skills and specific postgraduate research skills. Courses and application information 27 Which degrees can I progress to? Students who successfully pass an INTO programme are able to progress to a wide variety of university degrees.
