CASE STUDY Zayed University HV Sub-Stations Project Name Zayed University High Voltage Sub-stations Operations & Maintenance Client Zayed University Location Khalifa City (B) Abu Dhabi Contract HV operation and maintenance at Zayed University Summary COFELY BESIX facility management was awarded a two year contract to undertake the operation and maintenance of the 22Kv high voltage sub-stations of Zayed University located at Khalifa City Abu Dhabi. Scope Operation and maintenance of high voltage (HV) sub-stations and asset performance, in line with asset schedule PPM program for switchgears, transformers and battery chargers. CASE STUDY YAS Island Infrastructure Project Name YAS Island Development Infrastructure Client ALDAR Properties PJSC Location YAS Island, Abu Dhabi Contract Infrastructure Operation and Maintenance at YAS Island Summary COFELY BESIX facility management was awarded a 14 month contract to undertake the operation and maintenance of all infrastructure assets on YAS Island in Abu Dhabi. Scope The contract includes managing and maintaining the entire public realm utilities that are under Aldar control with the dual objective of bringing certain items up to the standards demanded by the relevant authorities prior to their take over. The assets include four large (primary potable, irrigation and storm water) pumping stations, 22kv substations, 28 x 22kv transformers and HV Ring main units along with the associated network distribution of all utilities (water, electricity and irrigation) throughout the Yas Island development. Our resident operation consists of technical team of approximately 30 operatives, with eight being located at the two main pumping stations. CASE STUDY Al Sufouh Tram Project Name Al Sufouh Transit System Client Roads and Transport Agency (Government of UAE) Location Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) Contract Consortium with Alstom Transport SA (France) Summary COFELY BESIX facility management was awarded a 13 year contract to undertake the maintenance and operation of the Al Sufouh Tram s non-core infrastructure. The service contract covers the mechanical, electrical plumping and civil operation and maintenance aspects of the stations, as well as the depot and bridges along the route as part of an inclusive deal in which Alstom Transport SA provides the rolling stock and tram support technology. The concept of the transit system is to provide a link between the Dubai Metro System and the Al Sufouh and Dubai Marina districts which are densely populated residential areas. Scope Provision of maintenance services, covering non-core HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumping services to 13 stations, a central depot and operational track plan. Resources Self performance, through direct labour, and specialist suppliers of key statutory requirements. Current activity Supporting consortium with design reviews, assessing maintainability of proposed assets and ensuring practicality of maintenance function and integrating maintenance planning with Alstom tram operation plans. COFELY BESIX facility management has worked closely with the consortium and the Roads and Transport Authority to evolve an operational solution to meet the outlook and needs of the transit system. The project is estimated to be completed in December 2014. 17 18
