3 About us Cordant Technical & Engineering Recruitment has been established for over 21 years and has a proven track record in the supply of both blue and white collar engineers, for permanent, contract and temporary positions, within the Oil & Gas industry. Our national coverage of 125 sites and local knowledge enables us to cover every facet of recruitment needs within the Technical & Engineering industry. Our team consists of specialist consultants who operate and concentrate exclusively within the engineering industry. 13 Oil & Gas Industry More than 120,000 skilled personnel will be needed over the next decade to fully realise the planned surge in investment in the North Sea oil and gas industry -as well as exploit new shale oil discoveries in the UK. Britain is the third largest producer of natural gas in the European Union. Natural gas production has been declining since The UK continental shelf, located in the North Sea off the eastern coast of the United Kingdom, is the major source of natural gas supplies. Maturing fields and falling natural gas production have led to a change in the industry s structure. Up to 34,000 new jobs could be created in oil & gas firms in the UK in the next two years, but skills shortages will make expansion difficult.
