Tenant Metering Software Installation Guide Version 1.0.1 SU1 63230-504-200A3 Retain for future use. Use this installation guide when you install PowerLogic Tenant Metering Software. INTRODUCTION PowerLogic Tenant Metering Software (TMS) is a companion product for use with the PowerLogic High Density Metering System. The software is used to read meter data and to generate electric bills for the amount of electricity used in individual units of a residential or commercial multi-unit building or complex. TMS Version 1.0.1 SU1 supports the following PowerLogic meters: PM200 family PM600 family PM700 family PM800 family CM3000 family CM4000 family Enercept meters Energy meters Multi-circuit Meter (MCM 8364) ION 6200 This document describes the installation process for Tenant Metering Software. The contents of the software package include: Tenant Metering Software installation CD NOTE: A TMS Software User s Guide is included on the CD. PowerLogic Software Policy License Agreement Registration Card This installation document This document assumes the PowerLogic High Density Metering System has been properly installed and that the meters have been initialized. Information on installing the hardware, initializing the meters, and setting up the communications link is found in documentation shipped with the High Density Metering System package. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Tenant Metering Software runs in the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system environment. A CD drive is required to load the software. NOTE: Do not attempt to install Tenant Metering Software on a system that has any version of PowerLogic System Manager Software. INSTALLATION If you already have a previous version of Tenant Metering Software on your computer, go to Upgrading Tenant Metering Software on page 10 and follow the instructions given there. If this is a new installation of Tenant Metering Software, follow the procedures in this section. 2006 Schneider Electric All Rights Reserved 1

Tenant Metering Software Installation Guide 63230-504-200A3 In order to set up a TMS administrative login, the software must be installed by an individual with the Windows System Administrator security level. To use Tenant Metering Software, users can be logged in as User, Power User, or Administrator. To install Tenant Metering Software, complete the following steps: 1. Insert the installation CD into the CD drive. 2. If AutoRun is disabled on your system, click the Windows Start button, then click Run. In the Run dialog box, type Setup preceded by the CD drive lettername applicable for your system, for example, D:\Setup. Click OK. The Tenant Metering Software Installer window is displayed. The components needed to run Tenant Metering Software are: Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 Microsoft.NET Framework 1.1 SP1 MSDE 2000 with SP3a Advanced Reports Framework Install Tenant Metering Software 1.0.1 Service Update 1 You may already have one or more of these components on your system. The install program automatically checks your system and installs only those components not present. NOTE: After each component is installed, you will be required to reboot your computer. When Advanced Reports installs, a new Welcome screen is displayed. 3. Click Next. The License Agreement screen is displayed for you to read. You must accept the agreement before continuing the installation. Click Yes to continue. 4. Upon completion of the Advanced Reports installation, you are prompted to restart your computer. When the Tenant Metering Setup window displays with only Tenant Metering software showing, click Install to continue. 6. The Welcome window is displayed. Click Next to continue. 7. The License Agreement window is displayed for you to read. You must click to accept the agreement before continuing the installation. Type the name of your Organization in the text box provided. Choose the applicable installation option at the bottom of the window by clicking the appropriate radio button. Click Next to continue. 9. The Database Server window is displayed. Click Next to accept all defaults. No values should be changed. 2006 Schneider Electric All Rights Reserved 5

Tenant Metering Software Installation Guide 63230-504-200A3 10. The Ready to Install window is displayed. Click Install. During processing, status windows are displayed. 11. When the process is finished, the Install Finish window is displayed. Click Finish to complete the TMS component installation. When prompted to restart your system, click Yes. 12. After the TMS component installation is complete, the Service Update 1 component is installed from the Software Installer screen. 6 2006 Schneider Electric All Rights Reserved

When preparation is complete, the Welcome screen is displayed. 14. Click Update. The installer will install the service updates. Upon completion, the Finish screen is displayed. 15. Click Finish. The reboot dialog box is displayed. You must reboot your computer for the installation to be complete. 2006 Schneider Electric All Rights Reserved 7

Tenant Metering Software Installation Guide 63230-504-200A3 STARTUP First Login During installation, Tenant Metering Software is placed in the Windows Program listing. To start the software, do the following: 1. Click the Windows Start button. 2. Select All Programs. 3. Select Square D Company. 4. Click Tenant Metering Software. The first time you start the software, you must enter an administrative login. When the system starts, the Login Maintenance dialog box is displayed. To log in the first time, complete the following steps: 1. Type the name of the Tenant Metering Software user in the Username text box. 2. Type the software user s password in the Password text box. 3. Retype the password in the Confirm Password text box to confirm the password typed in the preceding step. 4. Click the Save button to save the login information, or click the Close button to close the dialog box without saving. If the login information is not saved, the software execution stops. NOTE: Future login maintenance is performed using a menu item in the software. 8 2006 Schneider Electric All Rights Reserved

You can type the requested values for the Property Owner and Save now, or you can click the Close button and add the Property Owner information at a later time. NOTE: Future Property Owner maintenance is performed using a menu selection in the software. 6. After saving or closing the Property Owner window, the normal Tenant Metering Software Login dialog box is displayed. You must now log in, using the software user s login created in Steps 1 through 4. Type the Username and Password and click OK. 2006 Schneider Electric All Rights Reserved 9

Help SETTING UP METERS UPGRADING TENANT METERING SOFTWARE The meters in the High Density Metering System cabinet are powered on and initialized as part of the hardware installation. During that process, communications options are set, and a device number is assigned to each meter. Before meters can be assigned to tenants, they must be set up in the Tenant Metering Software system. For information and instructions on entering meters into the software, see Meters Overview in the Tenant Metering Software online help system. Access the help system from the Menu Bar on the main program window by selecting Help > Contents. If you are upgrading from a previous version of Tenant Metering Software, follow the procedures in this section. To install the service update for Tenant Metering Software, complete the following steps: 1. Insert the installation CD into the CD drive. 2.
