1 Managing MSDE with TOAD When planning to install an empty database with a database user must be created prior. The supported Database Providers are MS SQL Server 2000/2005 or MSDE and Oracle 8x and 9x. When MS SQL Server 2000 or 2005 is not available, installing MSDE for a small organization is also supported. After the MSDE is installation conclude you will need to reboot your machine to be able to start your MS SQL. 4 After the setup of TOAD finishes, please run the application to start administering your MSDE. - Provide the SQL server name, select SQL Server Authentication from the drop-down menu, choose the login to be sa, leave the password field empty and then to select your database click the browse button.
