LocktransP TLK-02 Over the last few years, cargo theft has been a subject of considerable discussion in the transport sector. Various insurers, interest groups and lawyers have considered the problem of cargo theft. Cargo theft has led to considerable losses for some companies, and in certain cases has even resulted in bankruptcy. Prevention has become an absolute necessity. Alongside preventive measures which can be taken internally, such as screening personnel, it is now also possible to soundly protect your equipment against theft. Specifically in response to the demand for a sound cargo bay protection system, Sterk technisch adviesbureau BV has developed the LocktransP TLK-02 system, for distribution companies and package delivery services. The LocktransP is transponder-operated. Transponder operation works on the basis of the principle that only the person with the correct transponder can gain access to the cargo. The LocktransP makes it possible to switch the cargo bay security system on and off, centrally. By activating a pin lock on the door and/or an interrupter on the tailboard, unauthorised persons are kept out of the cargo bay, and hence away from the cargo. It is also possible to use detection for example in the form of magnetic contacts. If the door is broken open, whilst the LocktransP is switched on, an audio signal or a visual signal (depending on the type of alarm system selected) can be triggered. The biggest advantages are the high degree of user-friendliness and the broad suitability for application of the LocktransP TLK-02. Since the system can practically be assembled and installed tailor-made, the user himself can decide on the system composition. A further possibility includes a so-called key plan. This means that for each vehicle secured with the LocktransP TLK-02 system, it is possible to program which individuals are authorised to gain access to the cargo bay. The LocktransP is perhaps the ultimate solution for effective cargo protection. -3-

2. Description The LocktransP has been specially developed for securing cargo bays. The system is responsible for activating the various facilities which ensure the protection of the cargo. The LocktransP, in other words, makes it possible to switch the protection facilities in the cargo bay on and off from a central unit. Operation The LocktransP is transponder-operated. This means that the system can only be switched on and off using the correct transponder key. The transponder key is presented to a receiver (the reader). The code contained in the transponder is verified according to the codes in the LocktransP database. This verification takes less than half a second. If the LocktransP recognises the presented transponder, the protection system is switched off. Transponder operation offers a number of major advantages. Firstly, the transponder reader can be installed practically anywhere, allowing the user to determine the installation position. Another advantage is the possibility of establishing a so-called key plan. Where a key plan is established, it is possible to decide for each vehicle individually to which persons authorisation to open the vehicle will be granted. The solid transponder comes in the form of a key ring, and can as a result be stored in any (secure) location. In other words, transponder operation is user friendly, fast, handy and effective. Protection Using the LocktransP, your cargo can be protected in one of two ways, namely by passive or active protection. Active protection of the cargo is achieved by interrupter and lock. The interrupter can for example be installed on the loading lift, thus preventing pallets and other large items easily being removed from the vehicle. The LocktransP can lock the cargo bay by for example activating a pin lock or magnetic lock. Alongside the active operation of the various protection systems such as locks and interrupter relays, the LocktransP also offers possibilities for passive security systems. Passive security is achieved by having the LocktransP detect a range of circuits, and responding accordingly. For example, if the door is opened, the circuit for the magnetic contacts will be broken. If at that time the LocktransP is not deactivated, this will be viewed as an attempted break-in, and the various alarms will be activated (such as: buzzer or siren depending on the type of alarm system chosen). A direct alarm, for example via the warning lights, siren, horn, etc. is not the only option. The LocktransP also offers the option of interrupting the starter motor, for example if one of the detection circuits is broken. By interrupting the starter motor, the driver is prevented from driving away in a vehicle which is not locked and/or in which the loading bay is not correctly closed. As a consequence, the risk of cargo theft at traffic lights or in busy urban traffic is considerably reduced. In brief, the key characteristics of the LocktransP system are user friendliness, very broad application and system composition, which can practically be tailor-made to every user s requirements. -5-
