3 GENERAL DESCRIPTION MINIGAS is a microprocessor gas control panel with 2 zones. On each zone you can install up to 3 detectors. Control panel cabinet is suitable for wall-mounting. Control panel has a 24 Vcc power supply for panel board and for connected detectors, as well as a battery-charger for stand-by accumulators. Besides, there is an auxiliary output to provide power to external devices, for example: sirens, bells, etc. When the internal power supply is not enough, there s an input for an external auxiliary power supply equipped with batteries. On the frontal panel there is a keypad enabled by a key for the following operations: SIGNAL SILENCE; LINES RESET (ALARMS RESET); ENABLE - DISABLE ZONES; WALK-TEST and LAMP-TEST. Besides, on the frontal panel you can find some LED s to signal: enabled/disabled zone (2 LED each); pre-alarm zone (1 LED each); alarm zone (1 LED each); trouble zone (2 LED each); general pre-alarm in progress; general alarm; general trouble; mains supply 220 V connected; discharged or not connected battery; test or walk-test in progress; fan control in progress; fan control trouble (1 LED for each zone); fan control inhibit (1 LED for each zone). Inside the control panel there are 10 DIP-switches. The only programmings admitted are: delay time of fan controls and the general alarm control length. On the main Control Panel terminal block there are the following outputs: 4 x ZONE PRE-ALARM AND ALARM TRANSISTOR OUTPUTS - Outputs O.C. 30 Vdc; GENERAL ALARM - Free voltage 1 switch control; GENERAL ALARM - 1 supervised control for 24 V sirens; GENERAL TROUBLE - Free voltage 1 switch control; GENERAL PRE-ALARM - Free voltage 1 switch control; FAN CONTROL - 1; FAN CONTROL - 2; PRE-ALARM ZONE 1 - Free voltage 1 switch control; PRE-ALARM ZONE 2 - Free voltage 1 switch control. On the main control panel terminal block there are the following inputs (all FORM C RELAY CONTACTS): Fan control 1 - Manual Start; Fan control 2 - Manual Start; Fan control 1 Inhibit; Fan control 2 Inhibit; Fan control Survey line 1; Fan control Survey line 2. 4 ELECTRIC FEATURES GROUND PLANT Ground plant has to be realised according to CEI and ISPELS rules and it must have a resistance below 10 Ohm (to be measured at the well with disconnected mains). CONTROL PANEL POWER SUPPLY Control Panel receives power by mains voltage, otherwise, if this one is missing, it works using an internal stand-by accumulator. Stand-by time depends on the quantity of connected detectors (see table). Features required for the mains supply are: voltage = 220 VAC single phase + 10%, -15%; frequency = 50 Hz +/- 0.5 Hz (+/- 1%). N.B.: it s important to pay attention when you have to install a control panel near electromagnetic sources (ex.: repeaters, radio links, engines, etc.). POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE CURRENT NOTES + 5 V 200 ma Control panel power supply regulated + 24 V 0.5 A Detectors power supply regulated Power supply consists in two section: 1 - main card power supply, detectors and external devices; 2 - battery-charger for stand-by accumulators. N.B.: on the + 24 Detectors and External Devices output are available max 24 V A with batteries connected. Constant current available is 500 ma (used for detectors). BATTERY-CHARGER SECTION Output voltage: 27.6 V. Output current: 400 ma. Quantity of connectable batteries: 2 x 12 V Ah. Recharge time: about 20 hours (with completely discharged battery). Stand-by time (with 2 charged batteries 12 V - 7 Ah) and without alarms: - 24 hours with 1 detector; - 18 hours with 2 detectors; - 14 hours with 3 detectors; - 12 hours with 4 detectors; - 10 hours with 5 detectors; - 8 hours with 6 detectors. Signals from/to power supply (not available on the terminals): - outputs = mains trouble, discharged battery; - inputs = batteries test from CPU. FUSES LIST On main voltage 220 V = 500 ma delayed. On siren control = 1 A delayed. On battery input = 3.15 A FAST. DETECTORS LINES POWER SUPPLY Detectors receive power supply by control panel. Features of such power supply are the following: voltage = nominal 24 Volt (27.6 Volt); current max = 500 ma; fuse = 3.15 A FAST. Doc. 5 DETECTORS QUANTITY TO INSTALL ON EACH LINE The maximum number of detectors connectable to each line depends on the current sink of the detector used. When you are installing NOTIFIER detectors the maximum number is 3 for each line. Wiring cut causes a trouble signal. 6 INSTALLATION Fixing Holes 260 mm Batteries cable Transformer 200 mm 2 Batteries 12 V Ground PSU ZONES SERVICES Control panel can be wall-mounted with nr. 4 self-locking dowels (brick walls) or with thread-forming self-tapping screw (prefabricated panels etc.). The screws diameter must be of max 4 mm. We suggest not installing the control panel near heat sources (radiators, central heatings, etc.). Control panel can be opened unscrewing the two cover fixing screws. Connecting cables with detectors, auxiliary devices and the mains can be put inside the control panel via the special holes, making run them along the cabinet lateral walls, providing an opportune length. 7 MAINS AND BATTERIES CONNECTION Mains supply cable has to pass trough the hole near the corresponding terminal block placed on the transformer. 220 VAC mains supply connection has to be executed via a three conductors cable (phase - neutral -ground). The connection of ground wire coming from mains has to be made on the terminal block placed on the transformer. Mains connection must be executed respecting the following phases: 1) switch off the 220 VAC mains supply; 2) disconnect the terminal block M2 from control panel; 3) connect the mains supply cable; 4) install and connect the batteries as indicated in this manual; 5) switch on the 220 VAC mains; 6) program control panel via 10 DIP-SWITCH (only for the two annexed functions); 7) connect the terminal block M2;» N.B. : as soon as you put the M2 terminal block, control panel receives power supply and automatically it starts working. However, it needs to wait some hours before having a complete charge of new batteries. 8) verify LED working on the panel, as indicated in paragraph START-UP ; 9) close the control panel cabinet. INTERNAL BATTERY-CHARGER Control panel has an internal battery-charger which is connected to the batteries via M2 polarised connector. This provides a 27,6 Vcc voltage and a max. current of 400 ma. Batteries features: nominal voltage = 12 V; nominal current = 7 Ah max. DETECTORS LINES Detectors lines have 3 wires. ATTENTION: not used line ALWAYS has to be closed with a 2K2 5%, 1/4 W End-of-line resistor, (supplied) on the control panel terminal block. Otherwise you ll have a trouble signal for line-cut. 9 ALARM AUXILIARY DEVICES Control panel can drive a 24 Vcc siren via the first of the two general alarm outputs. Control panel constantly checks the lines integrity (against cuts and short circuit). In order to obtain this function, it needs to have a siren equipped with an end-of-line resistor. The output is protected by a 1 A fuse. The second general alarm output allows the user to have a voltage free relais switch. General alarm Supervised control Supervised siren 24 V Form C contacts 12V or 24V self-powered Siren Auxiliary battery or power supply 12V or 24V Besides, in the control panel you can find: 1 switch control to signal GENERAL PRE-ALARM; 1 switch control to signal the GENERAL TROUBLE; 1 switch control to signal the ZONE 1 PRE-ALARM; 1 switch control to signal the ZONE 2 PRE-ALARM. 10 FAN CONTROLS Control panel is able to check and drive 2 fan controls, joined respectively to zone 1 and to zone 2. Fan lines are controlled for wire-cut, therefore relais and electro-valves used must bear a 1mA current. As far as electro-valves or relais connection is concerned, follow the supplier s instructions. Anyway it s better to use a shielded cable connecting the shield to the ground. For each line it s possible to connect an electro-valve or relais 24 Vcc, max 100 ma. Fan control lines are protected by an electronic device that, in case of persistent short, it operates limiting the output current. The line-cut is signaled by special LED. As far as INHIBITS and survey line connections is concerned, it s better they are executed with a shielded cable and with the shield connected to the ground. FAN CONTROL 1 Relay FAN CONTROL 2 Relay» ATTENTION: not used line ALWAYS has to be closed with an 2K7, 5%, 1/4 W end-of-line resistor, on the control panel terminal block. Otherwise you ll receice a trouble signal for line-cut. AUXILIARY INPUTS TO FAN CONTROLS Inside the control panel there are also the following inputs for NORMALLY CLOSED CONTACTS, connected to the fan control management: Input for FAN CONTROL 1 INHIBIT; Input for FAN CONTROL 2 INHIBIT; N.C. Survey line for FAN CONTROL 1; N.C. Survey line for FAN CONTROL 2.» ATTENTION: not used lines ALWAYS have to be connected to ground on the control panel terminal block. Otherwise you ll have: - for inhibit input = control panel behaves as the fan control is INHIBIT; - for N.C. survey line = control panel behaves as the fan control CANNOT START. Doc. 12 GENERAL ALARM CONTROL The output is protected by a 1 A delayed fuse, which failure is signaled by: general trouble LED steady on; general alarm LED blinking; buzzer sounds. Same signal also for line-cut. START - UP AND PROGRAMMING After having correctly installed the control panel, as instructions, power on the mains and connect the batteries. Control panel starts the LAMP TEST for 5 seconds. Then, it makes a detectors lines RESET that you can recognize via the ENABLE ZONE green LED blinking for 20 seconds. After this phase, control panel is working. Opening the control panel cabinet, in the middle of the board, you can find 10 DIP-SWITCHES. Those are factory pre-setted and user can modify ONLY DIP nr. 5, 6, 10. FAN CONTROL STARTING TIME DELAY Delay time to start fan controls can be programmed using DIP SWITCH nr. 5 and 6. Those are factory pre-setted for 20 seconds. WAIT TIME DIP NR. 5 DIP. NR seconds ON ON 40 seconds ON OFF 60 seconds OFF ON 90 seconds OFF OFF GENERAL ALARM CONTROL LENGTH Trough the DIP-SWITCH nr. 10 it s possible to limit the general alarm siren length up to 15 minutes otherwise you can let it in alarm untill the Lines Reset (factory pre-setted for infinite). 13 CONTROL PANEL WORKING Control panel carrying out will be the following: ONE ZONE PRE-ALARM; Zone pre-alarm control on; General pre-alarm control on; ONE ZONE ALARM; General alarm control on; Zone Fan control on (depending on delay time programmed). FAN CONTROL MANAUL START INPUTS Control panel has two manual start inputs, each associated with the relatives fan controls. When one of this buttons is released (are normally closed), the relative fan control starts (apart from the control panel state of the moment). Fan controls don t start in the following cases: Inhibit input = open; Fan control = in trouble; Survey fan controls line = open; Battery trouble detected. FAN CONTROL INHIBIT INPUTS Control panel has two inhibit inputs, each associated with the relatives fan controls. These N.C. inputs inhibit the fan control on which are joined, according to this rule: Input contact closed = ENABLED line; Input contact open = DISABLED line. In case of inhibit, on the control panel front, you can see the corresponding LED steady on. The led survey in real time the inhibit input state. When there s an alarm the control panel proceeds as above mentioned, up to the end of pre-alarm time. At this point panel verify the inhibit input state. When the input is enabled the relative fan control starts. Anyway, the procedure is stopped by a SIGNAL SILENCE and /or by a ZONES RESET. NOTIFIER ITALIA Installation and Use Manual Doc. 14 FRONT PANEL OPERATIONS KEY USE Control panel has a key which allows to enable the keypad use. KEY IN POSITION = DISABLED KEYPAD KEY IN POSITION = ENABLED KEYPAD KEYPAD ENABLE ALARM ENABLE PRE-ALARM ENABLE PRE-ALARM ENABLE ALARM SIGNAL SILENCE TEST RESET NOT USED ENABLE AND DISABLE ZONES An enabled zone allows to detect alarms and troubles. A disabled zone only signal trouble or alarm on the relative front panel Led s, without activate any control. A disabled zone can be enabled (only if it isn t in trouble) pressing once the relative zone key. An enabled zone can be disabled pressing once the relative zone key. The zone status is indicated by the relative LED. When the zone is ENABLED the led is steady on, while when the zone is DISABLED the led is switched off. Doc. 15 SIGNAL SILENCE In order to silence the controls or buzzer, it needs to press the SILENCE Key (see the siren crossed symbol). ALARMS RESET In order to reset detectors lines it needs to press the RESET key (see the arrow symbol). Before executing this procedure you must operate a silence. NORMAL CONDITION (NO TROUBLES AND ALARMS) ALARM Management ALARM SIGNAL SILENCE ALARM Management STARTING TEST Pressing TEST key you are able to do a lamp test in order to verify the right working of control panel led s and the buzzer. Pressing twice this key, you are able to start WALK-TEST. The operator can try to put in alarm the detectors one at a time, and then verify that the control panel could receive the alarm, and after 5 seconds could reset it automatically. Pressing the key for the third time you can exit from the WALK-TEST mode. During all the test phase, the test led, on the control panel is steady on. PROCEDURE TO RESET FAN CONTROL In case of a manual start inputs restore the manual button in normal condition. Verify that the detectors are no more in alarm (all zone Alarm LED s must be off). Press the signal silence key on the control panel keypad. Press the Line reset key on the control panel keypad. Verify as follows: 1) that there aren t alarm or trouble signals, produced, for example by survey line or by fan controls; 2) that there aren t inhibit signals.
