1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION SECURITY SYSTEM ADP-CAN Introduction Motorcar security system ADP-CAN is for motorcars provided with CAN net. It is for the work with the motorcar factory security systems or remote door lock control system. This system is an additional security-alarm providing a higher level of protection. The system is manufactured using the highest quality components, and are of excellent quality and high reliability. ADP-CAN hasn t got its own radio control panel. It is convenient because only one factory control panel is used. Also it is harder to identify that additional security measures are taken to protect the system from unauthorized release. The alarm is triggered during security mode when any of the door, hood or trunk hood is opened as well as the activation of the strike gauge. In security mode, trying to turn on the ignition, the electrical circuits managing the engine are blocked and the engine is not started up. The additional input for volume gauge installed in the motorcar s interior. Mode memory function does not let to turn off the turned of signaling system while disconnecting the clamps of accumulator and connecting them again. The security system stays in protection mode, the sound signal and engine blocking is turning on. The disconnection and connection of the power source when the security system is turned off does not make any signaling effect. This allows disconnecting the accumulator without any other disturbances while performing the repair works. The immobilization function of damaged areas, which turns off the security gauge activated for 7 times up to the next turning on of the security mode, allows to avoid false alarms. All the rest gauges and engine block are left turned on. Table No1 Mode light indication Security on Security off VALET mode Short indicator flashes Indicator is off Indicator lights constantly Important information PIN code In order to increase the security system protection in case of ADP-CAN the opportunity of personal identification code (PIN) usage is foreseen. The code is for the emergency turn off of security system. PIN code consists of two numbers and can have meaning from 11 to 99. The recorded factory PIN code in the new system is 11 but we recommend to change this code to another one (it is explained how to do it in the chapter The change of PIN code ). This will let you protect you mean of transport from unauthorized security system turn off. For the PIN code installation the emergency release button and the ignition key is used. Emergency shutdown of the security system In order to turn off the security, when security system remote panel is not working, open the motorcar door using the key. While the door is open the alarm will turn on, turn on ignition and let it work. While the ignition is on press the emergency turn off button as many times as the first digit of PIN code is and turn off the ignition. Turn the ignition again and enter the second digit of PIN code in the same way, then turn off the ignition. If the PIN code was entered correctly the security system is turned - 1 -
2 off. If you want to transfer the security system into VALET mode turn on and off the ignition again. The turned on VALET mode will be confirmed by burning LED (diode). If you were mistaken while entering the code, wait for 20 s and try again. Usage rules Security on and off The ADP-CAN protection of the security system is turned on/off automatically when the factory protection is turned on/off or the door are locked/unlocked using the factory remote panel. While opening the door without remote panel (e.g. using the key) ADP-CAN remains in security mode. While turning on the security system you will hear one sound signal and the lamps will flash once too. If the door, hood or trunk hood was not closed while turning on the protection you will be warned about it by bleep, it will go on three times. A flashing LED signal informs you about security system turn on. Rarely flashing LED indicates a fully activated protection, frequently flashing intermediate mode (only electrical circuit block is turned on) which may last for 30 s since turning on moment. Security All gauge modes: door, hood or trunk hood switches, strike gauge ignition lock switch and also additional input of volume gauge if it is installed and others and all others are controlled in security mode. The engine starting is blocked in security mode too. In case of any breach of any zone you are informed by the 28 s sound signal. Alarm When the alarm mode is on the horn is on and the turn signals start to flash. The alarm mode duration is 28 s or up till the alarm will be turned off using the remote panel. Activation of the warning mode of strike gauge will be notified in a short horn peep. The system s triggers memory In case of the motorcar security system was triggered at its security mode then while turning off the security you will be informed by three horn peeps. Also when the motorcar security system is turned off you will be informed about the cause of alarm with the LED flashlight and their meanings are presented in table No 2. The message about the trigger cause is performed from the turn off moment till ignition turn on but not more than 200 times. 3 Mounting instruction General recommendations While starting the mounting works of the system disconnect the negative (-) clamp of motorcar s accumulator. Chose the best mounting place taking into consideration: Possibilities of hiding the mounting equipment;; Sufficient zoom of the system block from possible moisture and heat sources; Security systems and original electronic electromagnetic influence in between reduction. 1. The central block must be mounted in the interior further from moisture and heat sources. 2. The central block wires must be strengthened in between before connecting to the internal CAN net. The part of the CAN net wires isolation is scraped off in the connection place and needed security system s wires are soldered there. The connection place must be isolated carefully. WARNING! You mustn t cut or leave the CAN net wires insolated. 3. The horn is mounted under the hood or other hard to reach areas. The horn megaphone must be pointed down or to the side. The mounting place must be secured from heat and moisture sources. While mounting the horn with autonomic power source the free access to the horn turn off lock must be ensured. 4. The back switches of the hood and trunk hood are mounted in the place secured from moisture sources and not accessible when the hood or trunk hood is closed. 5. Strike gauge is mounted in the interior of the motorcar fixing it to the motorcar body with tapping screws and using the double-sided adhesive tape. The sensor is mounted as close as possible to the longitudinal axis of the motorcar. 6. All power circuits must be must be protected by replaceable fuse corresponding to the maximum circuit current spent. 7. Make sure that all programmed functions and parameters correspond to motorcar equipment and construction.
