THE POST OF DATA MIGRATION PROJECT LEAD Greenpeace UK is embarking on an exciting and ambitious project to replace their existing fundraising system with Salesforce (a cloud-based CRM platform). We are currently seeking an experienced Data Migration specialist to manage the technical aspects of this project. Working with the Data, Planning and Insight Team you will be responsible for all aspects of the Data Migration Project, from designing the technical solutions required to extract, transform and load historic data, to developing test plans, through to implementation. You will work closely with the wider project team as well as stakeholders throughout the organisation to ensure all operational impacts and risks are understood and managed. You will use your project management skills to ensure that relevant teams and individuals are consulted and involved in decision making at key points and that all decisions made are clearly documented and communicated. You will also work closely with the Data, Planning and Insight Team to support their preparations for moving to the new CRM system, helping them ensure that all development work they undertake is compatible with the new system. JOB DESCRIPTION POST: UNIT: RESPONSIBLE TO: Data Migration Project Lead IT Head of IT / SDB Project Manager MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Supporter Database Project Data migration: responsibility for developing, testing and implementation of migration processes including o Ensure that design of new data structure has been carefully thought though and the implications of it are understood o Review the work being done to map existing data structures to the new design and to the architecture of the new system o Working alongside our vendor, you will take the lead on Extraction / cleaning / transformation / loading of data to new system o Develop and implement rigorous testing plan o Design and deployment of Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) modules using Talend Data Management Platform Business Process migration o In collaboration with the Data manager and other stakeholders ensure that data processes (e.g. selections, reports) are effectively migrated to the new system and where possible streamlined and improved upon Project Management o Take ownership of defined elements of the project and ensure realistic and comprehensive plans are developed with the Supporter Database (SDB) Project Manager and communicated to relevant teams and stakeholders Liaise with data team / data manager Other Duties o Provide regular updates on progress to the Data Manager and ensure that both the Data Manager, data team and stakeholders in the wider Fundraising Department are consulted and involved in decision making at key points. Maintaining up to date knowledge of developments in relevant industry fields 5

Selection of candidates will be based on the extent to which these requirements are met Experience Experience of working on large scale Database Migration projects Knowledge of Salesforce and associated ELT tools (Talend Data Management platform) Understanding of fundraising data / processes including digital marketing Knowledge of MS SQL and considerable experience of working with a broad range of data manipulation, reporting and analytic tools. In depth knowledge of relational database structure and navigation Communication Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate complex, technical information to non-technical staff. Personal qualities A high degree of initiative and ability to work unsupervised. An appetite for learning new technical skills and spotting opportunities to incorporate new technology in existing processes. The ability to plan, organise & prioritise own workload effectively An excellent co-worker, with a collaborative mind-set and communications style Support for, and belief in, the aims of Greenpeace. 6

SUMMARY OF TERMS, CONDITIONS AND BENEFITS SALARY This post has a full time salary range of 36,060 to 42,216 (depending on experience). WORKING HOURS The hours of work for this post are 37.5 hours per week. PROBATIONARY PERIOD All new employees are appointed subject to successful completion of a six-month probationary period. ANNUAL LEAVE Annual leave entitlement for full time staff is 25 days per year, plus one additional day for every full year of employment up to a maximum of 7 additional days. Leave is calculated on a pro-rata basis for part time staff. In addition, our offices are closed between Christmas and New Year, reopening on the first working day after New Year s Day. Staff are not required to take annual leave during this period. PENSION SCHEME In line with government requirements all staff are automatically enrolled into our workplace pension scheme. Greenpeace runs a contributory pension scheme held with Aviva, with optional Salary Sacrifice. Greenpeace contributes 8.5% of basic salary, provided the employee contributes at least 3%. POLITICAL REPRESENTATION Greenpeace is a non-party political organisation and it is important for its future that this should remain the case. It is, therefore, a condition of employment that employees shall not normally stand for any official position within a political party. RELOCATION EXPENSES Greenpeace offers assistance towards relocation expenses in certain cases. LIFE ASSURANCE Greenpeace offers a life assurance scheme paying four times annual salary in the unfortunate event of death during employment. I also contribute to new funding proposals and project updates for existing funders. Outside work, I also write a blog for my local cycling club. It s important to make sure the information in your letter is clear, concise and well-organised. You may find it helpful to use headings to structure your letter.
