Accounting A continuing skills shortage of accountants means accounting graduates are in high demand. Studying one of the following accounting courses will provide students with the skills and knowledge to perform accounting roles such as: Classifying, recording and reporting of accounting information Completing BAS statements, and other office statements and taxes Operational reporting, producing basic management and job costing reports Preparing financial budgets, supervising the operation of computer based systems Maintaining inventory records or managing a small office department or business unit. The Bachelor of Business (Accounting) is CPA (Certified Practicing Accountants) and ICAA (Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia) accredited. Graduates are able to apply for associate membership of the CPA Australia, ICAA and the NIA (National Institute of Accountants). Advertising A Holmesglen course in advertising will give you business skills and general advertising experience to exploit your new career. Students studying at Certificate IV level learn basic sales, marketing and advertising knowledge. The Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Advertising provides professional training in all aspects of the industry and related fields for entrance level practitioners and those already working in advertising and related areas. Advanced Diploma of Advertising Incorporating the Diploma of Advertising and Certificate IV Advertising Course Length: 2 years full-time, 3 to 4 years part time and Moorabbin Dual Qualification: Advanced Diploma in Marketing/ Advanced Diploma in Advertising Incorporating Certificate IV in Business Sales, Certificate IV in Marketing, Certificate IV in Advertising, Diploma of Marketing, Diploma of Advertising Course length: 2 years full-time day Bookkeeping Skilled bookkeepers are in heavy demand. A Holmesglen course in bookkeeping provides students with skills and knowledge to undertake tasks such as classifying, recording and reporting of accounting information. Completion of BAS statements and other returns are covered along with budgets and payroll preparation. The Australian Tax Office has enacted the TAX Agents Act (2009), and will come into affect early 2010. To become a registered bookkeeper providing BAS services to clients and charge a fee, the minimum educational qualification is the certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookeeping). Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping) Finance A qualification in financial services enables graduates to seek work in any number of interesting and sophisticated roles providing general and specialised financial advice to businesses, organisations and individuals. Training and Assessment This qualification enables students to harness their expertise and become trainers in the vocational education sector. Students learn to design and develop learning programs in various training environments and to deliver training confidently. Acquired skills include developing learning programs and conducting and validating assessments. For students eligible for a GSP place fees will range from $259.00 to $2300. No fee concessions apply. VET FEE-HELP, an income contingent loan, is available to help with course payments.
