1. DVR PC Network Connection There are three different types of DVR PC connection. Ⅰ. Network through HUB a. Configure the IP address. b. Connect the DVR unit to a Network HUB by using a Cat5 (RJ-45) cable. Ⅱ. Direct Network a. Configure the IP address. b. Connect the DVR unit and the PC by using a Cat5 (RJ-45) crossover cable. Remarks: When the DVR LAN connector is connected directly to PC, the RJ-45 cable Pin 1&3 /2&6 should be exchange. In other words, one end is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and the other end is 3, 6, 1, 4, 5, 2, 7, 8. Ⅲ. Remote Network via Internet Connection a. Connect the DVR to the Internet by using Cat5 (RJ-45) cable. The connection could be LAN or ADSL telephone line. b. Set the IP address and necessary network configuration setting. DVR Network Menu Setup: Setting Operation Process: Setting and Operation
1. Press MENU key, the screen will display this menu. 2. In the main menu, the > cursor will be shown on the screen right next to one of the ten different menu selections. 3. Press key or key to move the > indicator to row of the NETWORK SETUP. 4. Press SELECT key to enter the NETWORK SETUP menu. 5. Press key or key to move the position of > cursor and use SELECT key to change numbers. 6. Press MENU key to exit the NETWORK SETUP menu setting. NETWORK SETUP > ACCEPT CLIENT [YES] MAC ADDRESS 30.22.24.23.25.26 IP ADDRESS 192.168.001.090 SUBNET MASK 255.255.255.000 GATEWAY 192.168.991.245 PRESS (<, >) THEN (SELECT) PRESS (MENU) TO EXIT Ⅰ. ACCEPT CLIENT Setting If ACCEPT CLIENT option is set as [YES], then remote DVR access control is enabled. So, you can make real time viewing and control DVR remotely via LAN connection by using the Remote DVR Client Software included in LAN interface board. If ACCEPT CLIENT option is set as [NO], remote DVR viewer on your PC is disabled. Ⅱ. MAC ADDR Setting On a local area network (LAN) or other network, the MCA (Media Access Control) address is your computer s unique hardware number. (On an Ethernet LAN, it s same as your Ethernet address). When you re connected to the Internet from your computer (or host as the Internet protocol thinks of it), a correspondence table relates your IP address to your computer s physical (MAC) address on the LAN. Ⅲ. IP ADDR Setting Within an isolated network, you can assign IP addresses at random as long as each one is unique. However, connecting a private network to the Internet requires using registered IP addresses (called Internet addresses) to avoid duplicates.. SUBNET Setting Ⅳ It refers to a subnet mask used to determine what subnet an IP address belongs to. A number that is used to identify a sub network so that IP addresses can be shared on a local area network.
Ⅴ. GATEWAY Setting In enterprises, the gateway is the computer that routes the traffic from a workstation to the outside network that is serving the Web pages. In homes, the gateway is the ISP that connects the user to the Internet. Remote DVR Client Software Installation Remote Viewing with Remote DVR Client Software A client software package should be installed in a remote PC. The product allows a user to access to the DVR and remotely view the current images as well as control and change settings of the system. In order to function the remote view and operation, the PC you use must have basic conditions as below: a. Fixed IP address b. P4, 2.4GHz and 256MB RAM or above (or P3, min. 500MHz) c. LAN card 100MB or above I. Remote connection from your PC to the DVR a. Insert the client software CD on your PC. b. Click LAN connection icon in the directory. Once you click the icon, the DVR client Main Window will be shown on the PC screen. Connect
DVR client main window For remote connection to the DVR click Connect button. Then the following DVR Client Connection Manager window will appear on the screen. DVR IP Address Password DVR IP: The DVR address is the IP address of the remote DVR. Password: The password is same as password used for formatting the Hard Disk Driver. The default value is 111111 (six digits). II. When connection fails If connecting to the DVR fails, one of following pop-up windows will appear on the screen. Incorrect IP address When you see this dialog, the DVR remote user could not locate the DVR. The IP address specified may be not correct. Check the IP address and try again. Incorrect Password When you see this dialog, it means you key-in incorrect password. Check the password on DVR and try again.
After Connection DVR Main Window: After the input of right IP address and password, click OK button on DVR connection Manager window, then the stream of video image will display on the DVR main view window. DVR Remote Main Window Ⅰ. Connection Status When a remote connection is successfully made in remote area, you will see Connected sign. This window also displays DVR IP address and shows connection speed change. To disconnect, simply click Disconnect. To close the application, click Close Window. Ⅱ. DVR Control View mode
The view mode is a default and it displays the real-time events. Record mode When you click REC, it starts recording events on the hard disk drive in DVR. Stop Mode When you click STOP while playback, it switches to the view mode and displays real-time events. STOP REW (Rewind) Mode When you click REW, it rewinds previous recorded events while playback. PAUSE Mode When you click PAUSE while playback, it will pause the replay. To continue replaying, click PLAY button.
PAUSE FF (Fast Forward) mode If you click FF, it will play fast forward FF X 2. (2 times speed) If you click once more, it will switch to FF X 4. (4 times speed) If you click once more, it will switch to FF X 8. (8 times speed) PLAY Mode To playback recorded events, click PLAY button. DVR Play When you click PLAY button in DVR control Main Window, the DVR play window will show Time Play and Event Play icon in a single dialogue icon. (a) Time Play
Set the playback starting point (year/month/date/hour/min/sec) in the icon and click Start Timed Play button for playback. If there are two hard disk drivers installed in DVR, you can choose one hard disk drive for playback starting point to see the recorded events. (b).event Play Firstly, select the event on the list that you are going to playback and then click Start Event Play button. Then, it will playback the event you selected. Capture & Play (a) Recording event on your PC hard disk driver. REC
Using Capture & Play, you can record real-time event on your PC hard disk driver. When you click REC button, it will start recording event and save the data in stream file folder on local hard disk drive of your PC. (b) Playback Once recording is finished, click PLAY button, you will see a stream file list which have a stream data previously recorded on your PC hard disk driver. The file name itself contains the information about the year/month/ date/ hour/min/sec, which indicate the time of recording. So, you can easily check the recording time information only by file name. If you want to playback recorded event, select the file on the list and click Open button, then the event will be displayed on your PC screen. Channel Select channel that you d like to see on your PC screen. Frame Rate There are 30 different frame rate settings that you can choose. The maximum frame rate is 30 frames per second.
Audio volume adjustment Click the Mute function to OFF. Then, the volume can be adjusted HI or LOW by the button.
