BARRACUDA SWIM CLUB 2015 PUMPKIN PATCH INVITATIONAL SATURDAY & SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24-25, 2015 The Barracuda Swim Club invites you to attend the 2015 Pumpkin Patch Invitational at the new Kingsport Aquatic Center. In order to provide the best experience for our guests, the meet format has been structured to promote fast swimming in this state-of-the art facility. We hope you can join us! This meet will be conducted under the auspices of Southeastern Swimming, Inc. of USA Swimming. USA Swimming technical rules and regulations will be followed with the exception of items specifically addressed in the meet information Sanctioned by Southeastern Swimming, Inc. Held under the sanction of USA Swimming and Southeastern Swimming, Inc Sanction # 15SEPBSC10-24 Time Trial Sanction # 15SEPBSC10-24TT HOSTED BY: Barracuda Swim Club of Northeast Tennessee, Coach Chris Coraggio (423-833-5595) LOCATION: Kingsport Aquatic Center 1820 Meadowview Parkway, Kingsport, TN, 37660 FACILITIES: Indoor 50 meter pool with two 25-yard courses separated by moveable bulkheads. Competitor lane lines. Automatic timing system with scoreboard. Water depth is 13' at the start end of the competition course and 6'-6" at the turn end. The warm-up course is 5' to 6' deep. Custom starting blocks with adjustable wedge mounting, raised spectator seating. The competition course has been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4). RULES: Current USAS rules will govern the conduct of the meet unless otherwise noted herein. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms. Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. OFFICIALS: Meet Director: Chris Coraggio Referee: Deb Mills Admin Referee: Katarina Neglia ELIGIBILITY: All participants must be USA Swimming registered athletes. Entries will not be accepted without valid USAS registration numbers. Coaches and officials must present evidence of certification as required by Southeastern Swimming. A swimmer's age on the first day of the meet will determine his or her age for the meet. On-deck USA Swimming registration will be accepted at the discretion of the Meet Director. If allowed, full payment is due at the time of registration. An additional fee of $10 per swimmer will be charged to expedite overnight processing of the USAS on-deck registration. WARM UP: Southeastern Swimming Meet Safety Guidelines and Warm-up Procedures will be in effect at this meet. The Meet Director will post and announce the warm-up assignments prior to the start of the meet warm-up. Swimmers attending the meet without a coach must report to the Meet Director or Referee to be assigned a coach for warm-up prior to each session. Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. STARTING TIMES: Morning Sessions # 1 & 4: Warm-up: 7:30 AM Competition: 9:00 AM Afternoon Sessions # 3 & 6: Warm-up not before 11:00 AM; Competition not before 12:00 PM (A more detailed warm-up schedule will be published once entries have been received) ENTRIES: HYTEK entry files will be accepted via email. Teams who do not have HYTEK's Team Manager should download a copy of the Team Manager Lite software in order to process entries. Entry times should be the swimmers best times for short course yards. Converted times are acceptable - we want to encourage great racing! Please provide a hard copy of entries for verification purposes. DEADLINES: Entries will be accepted beginning on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, and will be accepted on a first-come, firstserved basis. Teams who enter early will be allowed to update times prior to the entry deadline. Entries should be received on or before Tuesday, October 13, 2015. The meet is limited to 450 swimmers. Timely entries are highly encouraged. Late entries will
only be accepted if the meet limit has not been reached. A check for entry fees along with waiver should be received by Monday, October 19, 2015. FEES: $4.00 per individual event; LSC surcharge: $3.00 per swimmer from within Southeastern Swimming, $5.00 per swimmer from outside Southeastern Swimming. There is a facility fee of $10 per swimmer. Late fees are $8.00 per individual event and $16.00 per relay and will be accepted solely at the discretion of the meet director. Please make checks payable to BARRACUDA SWIM CLUB. All entry fees are nonrefundable. LIMITS: Swimmers are limited to 5 individual events per day. Entries will be limited to 250 swimmers per session, and 450 for the meet. In deck-seeded events, the top 8 swimmers in the 10 & under and 11-12 age groups will be guaranteed to swim; the top 16 swimmers in the 13-14 and Open events will be guaranteed to swim. Other swimmers may compete at the discretion of the meet director with consideration given to meet time line constraints. SWIM SHOP: Swim & Tri Swim Shop out of Knoxville will be at the meet to provide all of your outfitting needs. MEET FORMAT: Swimmers will be seeded together by event, but scored separately. 12 & under events will be scored 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12; Open events will be scored 14 & under, 15 & older. This is a timed finals meet. All events will be pre-seeded except the 500 yard freestyle and 400 yard IM events, which will be deck-seeded. Deck seeded events will be swum fastest to slowest, alternating girls and boys. Swimmers must sign-in with the Clerk of Course for all deck-seeded events. Sign-in deadline is 30 minutes after the end of warm-ups for the prior session. If the swimmer is not checked in with the Clerk of Course, the swimmer is legally scratched from the event. Only the swimmer or his/her coach may sign in for deck-seeded events. SCORING: The meet will not be scored. AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded for first through eighth place in all individual events. Heat winners will receive a special award. High point awards for the top 3 swimmers in each age group will be presented. COACHES' MEETING: Coaches' meeting will be held at 8:50 AM on Saturday morning. No swimmers will be allowed in the pool during this time.
