T supprt the achievement f this gal, the AVPA (LE) is respnsible fr facilitating the Student Success/Strategic Enrlment Management initiatives and nging academic planning activities n the Frederictn campus and crdinating with clleagues n Saint Jhn campus in related institutinal initiatives. The AVPA (LE) has specific respnsibilities with respect t supprting gals and bjectives that are at the cre f the academic missin f UNB: an exceptinal and transfrmative student experience; engaging, challenging, and relevant academic prgrams; excellence in teaching and learning; high quality teaching learning spaces; and enhanced access and supprt fr students, including under-represented grups and internatinal students. clleagues n the Saint Jhn campus t supprt an institutinal wide Student Success/Strategic Enrlment Management prgram. The AVPA prvides leadership and guidance in the develpment f a student centred learning envirnment, n the University s nging academic planning exercises, and establishes apprpriate netwrks t develp and implement relevant initiatives that cntribute t these gals. The AVPA (LE) reprts t the Vice-President Academic (Frederictn) while wrking clsely with ther members f the University s senir management team. The Assciate Vice-President Academic (Learning Envirnment) is expected t: Assist the Assistant Vice President - Student Services,, and ther members f the academic cmmunity t champin the rle f students within the University and t prmte a psitive learning envirnment. Wrk with the VPA (Frederictn), the Assistant Vice President Academic and ther members f the university cmmunity n academic planning effrts. Assist the Directr f the Centre fr Enhanced Teaching and Learning and the Teaching and Learning Crdinatr t prmte a culture f teaching excellence including ways t supprt, assess, recgnize and reward utstanding teaching. Assist the Academic Advising Supprt Crdinatr t prmte the imprtance f academic advising, t prvide supprt fr bth centralized and faculty and department-based academic advising initiatives, and t prvide prfessinal develpment pprtunities and resurces fr faculty/staff advisrs. Prvide leadership and wrk cllabratively with relevant stakehlders in develping and implementing a Student Success/Strategic Enrlment Management prgram fr the Frederictn campus. Prmte the develpment f learning initiatives within the University that supprt student recruitment and retentin. Slve cmplex student issues which have nt been reslved by ther ffices and/r thrugh standard prcedures. Champin new initiatives and innvatins t imprve student life and academic achievement. Prvide leadership in strategic initiatives including Teaching and Learning Spaces Academic Advising Student Success Initiatives Develpment and Recgnitin f Teaching Excellence

Qualificatins and Attributes The Assciate Vice-President Academic (Learning Envirnment) will be an individual hlding a full-time academic appintment wh will wrk with the university cmmunity t enhance student life and the quality f the learning envirnment n campus.
