INTRODUCTION Deacons provide a system called Citrix which give you access the Firm s main applications such as Outlook and Word from most internet connected devices. This allows you to work from home, hotels, etc. We support Citrix access from Apple Mac running OS X 10.6 or above. If you have not already done so you must install the Citrix client on you machine to access our systems remotely. This only need only be done once on your machine. INSTALLING THE CITRIX CLIENT If you have already install the Citrix client there is no need to reinstall it each time you access the system Open Safari and type http://myoffice.deacons.com.hk in the address bar Click on Download client software (Mac) From the Downloads of you Apple Mac, launch the CitrixReceiverWeb.dmg file. Click Install Citrix Receiver when you see below screen The installation process is start running, click Continue to install. Click Agree to accept the agreement. During the installation, you may be asked to type in your Mac OS User name and password (not the Deacons domain login) for authentication. When the dialogue box show below you may click Close - 3 -

You should now restart your computer to finish the installation. If you do not restart your Mac computer Citrix may not work correctly. - 4 -

WORKING REMOTELY VIA CITRIX Note: If you have NOT previously installed the Citrix client please use the instructions in the previous section to do so. Open Safari and type http://myoffice.deacons.com.hk in the address bar From the webpage click on the orange button labelled Connect In the dialogue box that appears enter the username and password that you use when logging into your workstation in the office. Leave the domain as DEACONS then click the Log On button You will now see a set of applications and you can click the relevant icon to launch the application such as Outlook, Word, etc - 5 -

You can launch more than one applications at a time, just return to the screen showing the icons and click on the icon for the icon you wish to access You can save your documents into a matter in worksite just like as you are in office. Do not save the documents into your own computer or USB removable drive. Please Note If you leave an application idle for 30 minutes, because you are on a phone call or away from your machine, the application will enter what is known as a suspended state. If you simply login to Citrix again within 30 minutes you will be reconnected to the suspended session and all your work will have been persevered. If you fail to login within 30 minutes after your session enters this suspended state your session will be automatically terminated by the system and any unsaved work will be lost. If your internet connection fails or becomes slow you might be disconnected from Citrix. In this case simply login to Citrix again within 30 minutes and you will be reconnected to your previous session. You should find all your work is in the state it was at the time the connection failed. If you leave it longer than 30 minutes your session will be terminated and any unsaved work will be lost. PRINTING FROM CITRIX TO YOUR HOME PRINTER Please note: In some circumstances it will not be possible to print to your home printer as not all home printers are compatible with the system. Citrix allows you to print to your home printer as follows: From the File menu select Print When the printer list appears you will see a printer in the list with your home PCs name in brackets similar to the one shown below Select this printer and then click OK to print LOGGING OFF CITRIX When you have finished working please close all applications and then click Log Off. - 6 -
