2 Remote Users: Tips and Tricks For Accessing Documentation Finding a Patient s Chart Step 1: To locate a patient click on the Patient icon from the top menu bar as seen below. Step 2: Type the first few letters of the patient s last name and fill in the birth date. Click the Find button. Step 3: Double-click on the patient to go to the chart. Effective 2/26/2013 Page 1

3 Remote Users: Tips and Tricks For Accessing Documentation Viewing and Printing Chart Notes (excluding Prenatal Records) Step 1: After you have opened a patient s chart, documents can easily be viewed by selecting Documents from the Patient History bar. Click on the arrow and select Documents from the pick list. Step 2: Next right click on any of the chart icons. From the pop-up that will appear select Expand All the first choice from the list.this will expand all visits that have any documents for easy viewing. 4 Remote Users: Tips and Tricks For Accessing Documentation Step 3: Select the document you want to view by clicking on it. To print go to File and select Print or click the Printer Icon. To print the document click on File and select Print from the menu or click the Printer icon. Viewing and Printing Prenatal Records Step 1: After you have opened an OB patient s chart, Prenatal Records can easily be viewed by selecting Reports from the Patient History bar. From the pop-up that will appear select Expand All the first choice from the list.this will expand all visits that have any documents for easy viewing. Right-click on any of the chart icons and select Expand All Step 3: Use the scroll bar to locate the OB Prenatal Record. This chart note is designated by the icon below. Step 4: Notes can be printed by clicking the Printer Icon or by going to File and selecting Print. Effective 2/26/2013 Page 4

6 Make sure this is changed to Windows Integrated and click logon.

7 Remote Users: Printing Labs, Spirometry & EKG s Printing Labs Labs can be printed either via a Crystal Report or directly through the Orders module. When printing multiple lab tests a Crystal Report is recommended. If printing only a few specific results you can go directly to the Orders module. 1. To Print labs via the Crystal Report first open the desired patient s chart. Then go to File<Reports<Crystal Reports as seen below. 2. Next select the second + to expand the choices. Select the Lab Results Report and then click the Preview button. Effective 4/1/2013 Page 1

8 Remote Users: Printing Labs, Spirometry & EKG s 3. Click on the to select a Start of Range date and a to select the End of Range date to view and print labs. After the dates have been selected click OK. This will generate all labs completed during this date range. 4. Click the printer icon as seen below for a copy of the results. Printing Labs from the Orders Module 1. To print only a few labs click on the Orders icon at the top of the screen. 2. Click on the Orders tab and then click on the lab results you want to print. 9 Remote Users: Printing Labs, Spirometry & EKG s 3. Click on the next to Results (reported results-formatted). This will open up the results for the selected lab as seen below. Click the Print Results icon to print a copy of the results. Printing EKG s and Spirometry 1. To view and print copies of EKG s and Spirometry results click on the Equipment icon after you have opened the desired patient s chart. Effective 4/1/2013 Page 3

10 Remote Users: Printing Labs, Spirometry & EKG s If you do not have the Equipment icon you can add it by clicking on the drop down arrows<select Top Toolbar and click next to Equipment. 2. To view and print the EKG/Spirometry results click on the Equipment icon. You will see the date the test (s) were performed. Click on the test date you would like to see the results of and then click on View Report. Results can be printed by clicking Print at the bottom of the results screen. Effective 4/1/2013 Page 4
