Citrix Client Install Instructions If you are using Citrix remotely, Information Technology Services recommends updating Citrix client to the newest version available online. You must be an administrator on your home computer to install the Citrix client. Windows 8 Citrix Client Uninstall Instructions First, you need to uninstall any old Citrix clients. 1. Move your mouse into the bottom or top right corner to bring up the charms bar. 2. Select the Search charm. 3. In the search bar type control panel and select the control panel icon on the left 4. Make sure small icons is selected. 5. Select programs and features.
6. Select any programs in the list with Citrix in the name and press uninstall. After uninstalling any Citrix clients click here to go to the Citrix Client installation instructions.
Windows 7/Vista Citrix Client Uninstall Instructions First, you need to uninstall any old Citrix clients. 1. Go to the start menu and click on control panel. 2. Make sure small icons is selected. 3. Select Programs and Features. 4. Select any programs in the list with Citrix in the name and press uninstall. Windows XP Citrix Client Uninstall Instructions First, you need to uninstall any old Citrix clients. 1. Go to the start menu and click on control panel. 2. Click on Add or Remove Programs. 3. Select any programs in the list with Citrix in the name and press remove.
Select Yes when prompted to confirm you want to remove the Citrix client from your computer When the uninstall process is finished close the Add or Remove Program screen and Control Panel After uninstalling any Citrix clients click here to go to the Citrix Client Installation instructions.
Citrix Client Installation Instructions Click on the link below to go to the Citrix Receiver download page: http://receiver.citrix.com Click on the download receiver for windows button at http://receiver.citrix.com Read the license agreement and then check the box to agree to the terms. Press continue to advance to the download page You may see the following bar pop up at the top of your browser window. If so click on it and select Download File Then select the run option for citrixreceiverweb.exe Windows 8/ 7/Vista Windows XP Please continue to the next page
Click yes on the User Account Control window and the Citrix Receiver Setup window appears. Choose Install to begin the installation process When the setup is complete the window will automatically close. Should you see the following box: Please click Cancel and then Yes. Please continue to the next page
Once the installation is completed we need to add https://mydesktop.york.ca/vpn/index.html to your Trusted Sites within Internet Explorer. Click the link below to launch Internet Explorer: https://mydesktop.york.ca/vpn/index.html Navigate to the top right hand corner of the browser and click on Tools (might appear as gear icon) Click on Internet options and then the Security tab Click on Trusted Sites and then on Sites Copy and paste the address in the browser (https://mydesktop.york.ca/vpn/index.html ) into the Add field and click Add. Press close and then OK to complete this step.
Restart your computer after the installation is completed to ensure all settings take effect You can now go ahead and login to Citrix with the link: https://mydesktop.york.ca/vpn/index.html Use your network account username and password. Mac Installation Instructions for Citrix Client(Reciever) Note: Instructions for Mac are limited. If you are having issues installing the on MAC please contact the IT Service Desk during regular business hours and they may be able to assist (currently not a Regional standard and not supported) 1. Go to Citrix download page for the Receiver for Mac.dmg file http://receiver.citrix.com 2. Select View other devices and select the Mac option. 3. On the Introduction page, click Continue. 4. On the License page, click Continue. 5. Click Agree to accept the terms of the License Agreement. 6. On the Installation Type page, click Install. 7. Enter the administrator account details for the device on which you are installing Receiver and click OK.
