ACCESSING CERNER ON A MAC (October 1, 2012) For any questions regarding these instructions, or for assistance with accessing Cerner from a Mac, iphone or ipad please contact Dr. Behra at jbehra@ematucson.com. Dr. Behra is our resident Mac expert and willing to help if you have a problem. Installing Citrix Receiver on Mac Computers For best results use Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6), Lion (10.7) or Mountain Lion (10.8) To use an internet browser, such as Safari or Firefox, to access Cerner, follow steps 1 through 7 below and then skip to the section on Using an Internet Browser (last 3 pages). To do a complete Re-Installation of Citrix, follow steps 1-4, and click the Uninstall Citrix Receiver icon. Once Citrix is removed from your machine, you should quit any open internet browsers and then resume these instructions at step 4. If you are not a Cerner user, and/or wish to access other applications remotely, such as PACS, WebNow or iconnect, complete steps 1-5 and then jump to step 15. 1. Using your internet browser, navigate to http://www.citrixreceiver.com. Click Download now 2. Click Download Receiver for Mac.

3. You should see the Downloading Citrix Receiver Window. 4. This will download the CitrixReceiver disk image file to your Downloads folder. Open this disk image, and click on the Install Citrix Receiver.pkg icon. Follow all prompts to install Citrix Receiver to the Applications folder on your Mac. If you want to remove the Citrix Receiver App because you no longer want to use it, or you would like to do a complete re-install, Click the Uninstall Citrix Receiver icon. If you wish to re-install without Uninstalling first, in order to to preserve your existing settings/applications, go to step 13.

5. Citrix Receiver will likely automatically start after installation. If not, navigate to your Mac s desktop and click on the Go menu. Select Applications and then find and open the Citrix Receiver application which you just finished installing. 6. You will be prompted to Enter your work email or server address: In this field, copy and paste the following URL: https://ahtuaz.cernerworks.com/pnagent/config.xml Then, click Next.

7. If the connection to Cerner is successful, you should see the following screen prompting you to enter a Domain\User and Password. Enter the following: Domain\User: AZTUC\yourCernerusername (where yourcernerusername is your Cerner User Name) Password: your Cerner Password AZTUC\yourCernerusername If you check Remember my password, you will not have to enter your Password every time you start a Citrix session. 8. Click Add Apps to place Apps onto your Citrix App Desktop. Click the All Applications link to see the Apps available to you. For Cerner access by Emergency Providers, select FirstNet. Other Providers use Powerchart.

9. You can drag the App icons to your Dock, desktop or anywhere else you may prefer. Just click the App icon and drag it out of the Citrix window to your desired location. Clicking the link will, from then on, launch Citrix Viewer and the desired App. 10. Logging into Cerner then involves simply clicking on the desired Application icon. This starts the Citrix Viewer application. Unless you have already checked Remember password, it will prompt for your user id and password and then start the Cerner interface. Log on to Cerner as usual. 11. You can click Citrix Viewer on the menu bar at the top of the screen and choose Preferences to see a list of cutomizable options. You can also open the Preferences window by clicking the cog wheel icon next to the App Search box.

12. The Preferences window allows you to edit your account settings and ENTER A CHANGED CERNER PASSWORD. Just select the account you wish to edit, click the cog wheel icon at the bottom of the Preferences pane and then choose Configure Account.

STEPS 13-15 are for those users who had previously installed Citrix and are doing a re-install 13. If you had previously installed Cerner and reinstalled it WITHOUT UNINSTALLING IT FIRST as outlined in step 4, you will see the Domain\User Name prompt. Enter AZTUC\yourusername and your Cerner log-in password as in step 7 above. Check Remember my password if desired. 14. Upon logging in, some users may encounter a Cannot connect to the Server message if they had previously added the mobile.carondelet.org address which is used to access the PACS, WebNow and iconnect apps. For now, just dismiss this message by clicking OK. If you need to access those Apps, go to step 15, after completing step 14. If your previously installed apps don t appear already on your App desktop, click the + icon on the left side of the App desktop. Then click on the All Applications link. Select the applications you d like to see on your App desktop.

Remotely Accessing non-cerner Apps (PACS, WebNow, iconnect, Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.) 15. If you wish to remotely access applications other than Cerner, such as the the PACS (radiology), WebNow or iconnect Apps, you should follow steps 1-5 above and then return here. Users who have already created the Cernerworks Virtual Apps account will be adding a new account titled Carondelet Virtual Apps. Non-Cerner users will only use the Carondelet Virtual Apps account. Non-Cerner users or users who have not already installed any accounts will see the screen prompt to Enter your work email or server address:. They should skip to step 18 and proceed. 16. Users who already have accounts installed should proceed here. Click Citrix Viewer on the menu bar at the top of the screen and choose Preferences to see a list of customizable options. You can also open the Preferences window by clicking the cog wheel icon next to the App Search box. 17. Click the + icon beneath your Account list.

18. You will be prompted to Enter your work email or server address: In this field enter the following URL: https://mobile.carondelet.org Then, click Next. 19. You will be prompted to Add Apps, and you ll then see a list of your accounts. Select the Carondelet Virtual Apps account. This will display the applications available to you remotely. Choose the applications you wish to add to your Citrix Apps desktop.

If you already have Cerner apps, such as FirstNet on your desktop, these apps will appear in addition. You can drag the App icons to your Dock, desktop or anywhere else you may prefer. Just click the App icon and drag it out of the Citrix window to your desired location. Clicking the link will, from then on, launch Citrix Viewer and the desired App.

20. If you prefer to access these non-cerner apps through your browser, instead of through the Citrix receiver interface, go to the following URL: http://dr.carondelet.org Then select Remote Access from the links on the left of the screen, and enter your User Name and Password as below: User name: AZTUC\yourCernerusername (where yourcernerusername is your Cerner User Name) Password: your Cerner Password 21. Select the application you d like to run and it should open within the Citrix Viewer App. NOTE: Some users may notice upon clicking an application icon, that instead of the Citrix Viewer App launching, a file is downloaded. If this is the case, go to your Downloads folder on your Mac, and double-click on the file just downloaded, titled launch-##.ica Your application should launch correctly. This file may be deleted after use, as it is a temporary file and will not work on future launches.

Using an Internet Browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc.) with Citrix Plug-In 1. Follow the instructions listed above for installing Citrix Receiver. After completing steps 7 or 8 above, Quit the Citrix Receiver App. The Citrix installer has placed the Citrix Online plug-in for Mac onto your computer. This will allow you to access Cerner using any internet browser and the Citrix Viewer App. 2. You may now access Cerner online through any web browser. Locate Compass CernerWorks at http://dr.carondelet.org. 3. Click on COMPASS CernerWorks and you will see a Cernerworks Login window. Enter your Username and Password. The Domain is CHNT. Click Log On.

You will see a list of applications available to you for remote access. Emergency Dept. Physicians should select the FirstNet app. NOTE: Some users may notice upon clicking an application icon, that instead of the Citrix Viewer App launching, a file is downloaded. If this is the case, go to your Downloads folder on your Mac, and doubleclick on the file just downloaded, titled launch-##.ica Your application should launch correctly. This file may be deleted after use, as it is a temporary file and will not work on future launches. 4. You will see the familiar CernerWorks Login window. Log in as usual. NOTE: Some users may notice that when you try to type in either field, nothing happens: Look at the right side of your Applications Dock and you'll find a minimized window called HNAM Logon. Click on it. You'll see this little title bar pop up at the bottom of the screen.

Now try typing in the Cerner login window. You should be able to enter your info & log in successfully.
