Hubs and networks structure supply and demand Demand forecast (source - feasibility study Łódź Multimodal Hub) Regional distance traffic In the next 30 years (until 2040) the number of regional travel will increase more than 3-fold (2020-2-fold), reaching nearly 0.5 million trips per day. In 2040, compared with 2009 individual transport systems will grow travel: - more than 16-fold in rail traffic (including 11-fold increase in the number of passengers handled at the central station in Łódź) - more than 2-fold in the bus (including more than 3-fold increase in the number of passengers handled at the central station in Łódź - more than 2.5-fold in the transport of individuals The share of different modes of transport will record changes: - participation in private transport trips will decrease from 80% in 2009 to 64% in 2040 - share of rail transport will increase from 5.3% in 2009 to 26.3% in 2040 - bus share will decrease from 14.7% in 2009 to 10.0% in 2040 In 2040, the central train station in Łódź will benefit nearly 80,000 passengers using regional rail and more than 16,000 passengers using regional bus services Long-distance traffic In the next 30 years (until 2040) will increase the number of long-distance travel is more than 3 - fold (by 2020 - nearly 2- fold), and will be more than 150 thousand travel during the day. In 2040, compared with 2009 individual transport systems will grow travel. In 2040, the central train station in Lodz benefit more than 31,000 passengers on long-haul rail and close to 9,000 passengers using bus services in long-distance traffic. Hubs and networks structure The heart of a multi-modal transport hub will be the new train station.
