HERITAGE PARK YMCA Heritage Park YMCA is located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It has a BrightStars rated quality early childhood education program for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years of age. Outfitted in 20 spacious classrooms as well as indoor and outdoor play spaces. At Heritage Park YMCA, each of our programs is outfitted with the latest materials that encourage children to learn at their own pace. CAMP HERITAGE PIONEERS Ages: 5 by June 1 Location: Heritage Park YMCA, 333 Roosevelt Ave, Pawtucket, RI (401) 727-7050 Member: $143 per week Non-Member: $178 per week Camp Highlights: Camp Heritage Pioneers is the perfect transition for children who are going from Preschool to Kindergarten. Campers will have traditional day camp routines like daily opening exercises, camp songs and arts & crafts. Camp has swimming, art activities and other summer fun. We have weekly field trips and guest speakers. Camp counselors emphasize teamwork through non-competitive sports and activities that nurture the potential of every child. Parents are invited to Heritage Park s weekly special events! CAMP HERITAGE VOYAGERS Ages: 6-8 years Location: Heritage Park YMCA, 333 Roosevelt Ave, Pawtucket, RI (401) 727-7050 Camp Highlights: During camp, each camper belongs to a small tribe that develops its identity, song, and characteristics as the weeks unfold. At the same time, the campers engage in similar activities as described for the Pioneers. Voyager camp is known for its emphasis on creativity and campers discover their hidden strengths and talents. Each week, there is a special theme at Heritage Park that campers participate in. Parents are invited for a presentation and can enjoy weekly special events with the campers. Note: This camp has the therapeutic child care services program available. Now Offering Therapeutic Child Care Services at Heritage Park YMCA The therapeutic child care services program provides the foundation for children to learn, socialize and play alongside their typically developing peers. Therapeutic groups have an additional staff member to provide a lower staff to child ratio. All staff are given the skills and techniques to work with all of the children. Who is eligible? Any child ages 18mo-12years who receives Kids Connect services. Any child with special health care needs - these can include behavioral, developmental, emotional or physical needs. A child covered under Rite Care, Rite Share or Katie Beckett. Therapeutic childcare is available in our toddler thru first grade class rooms. CAMP DINO-MYTES Ages: 5-8 years No later than 9:00 a.m. Camp Highlights: This camp is designed to explore the imagination of children. Campers will enjoy fun activities like camp songs, arts & crafts, and action games. Additionally, campers have two opportunities to swim throughout the day (including one swim lesson and one free swim). Children will develop a healthy sense of themselves and others on their way to making life-long friends and memories. YMCA camps have value-based programming focused on honesty, caring, respect and responsibility. Camp Dino-Mytes goes on a weekly field trip to local parks. AIM HIGH CAMP Ages: 6-7 years - Aim High Camp 8-10 years - Aim Higher Camp $5.00 weekly field trip fee Camp Highlights: Aim High Camp - is a unique camp that is designed to improve skills in reading, math, and writing while retaining the fun of a day camp. Weekly field trips, swimming, and creative educational models are used to peak the interest of each participant. English as a second language is also taught. Aim Higher Camp - A continuation of Education Camp will focus on study habits, time management, and becoming more independent. English as a second language is also taught in this educational camp. * Campers keep Summer Learning Logs to keep track of their work. All of our camps are accredited by the ACA 4 5

CHEER & DANCE CAMP Ages: 6-12 years Camp Weeks: Weeks 1-10 Week 1 June 20 - June 24 Week 2 June 27 - July 1 Week 3 July 4 - July 8 Week 4 July 11 - July 15 Week 5 July 18 - July 22 Week 6 July 25 - July 29 Week 7 August 1 - August 5 Week 8 August 8- August 12 Week 9 August 15 - August 19 Week 10 August 22 - August 26 Dance Camp Highlights: Dance Camp is designed for campers to learn the history of dance and various skills and techniques in dance. The camp will focus on Hip Hop, Jazz and Step Dancing. Other dance forms (such as ballet and tap) will be introduced. Each week, participants of this specialty camp will dance in a short performance to exhibit skills that were learned during the session. The performance takes place in front of other campers but parents are also invited to attend,,every Friday at 4:00 p.m. SPORTS CAMP Ages: 6-12 years All of our camps are accredited by the ACA Camp Highlights: Rookies Sports Camp (Ages 6-8) - Children play sports in a NONcompetitive environment that allows them to develop athletic skills and an appreciation for teamwork. Through creative activities, kids will improve self-esteem and confidence. Future Stars Sports Camp (Ages 9-10) - This is the next level of sports camp which has an emphasis on teaching sport specific skills in a non-competitive environment. This camp begins to develop team concepts and skills and team building skills. All Stars Sports Camp (Ages 11-12) - Children play in a more competitive setting. Special guests will lecture on sport specific topics. Although the camp has a competitive flavor, Y character counts values are incorporated into this sports program. Cheerleading Camp Highlights: Cheerleading camp was created for participants to learn about the history of cheerleading while acquiring various skills and techniques involved with cheering. In this camp participants learn a number of cheers with corresponding movements as well as simple stunts and lifts. Campers will be closely monitored and spotted by staff. Each week, participants of this specialty camp will dance in a short performance to exhibit skills that were learned during the session. The performance takes place in front of other campers but parents are also invited to attend. 6 7

PHOTOGRAPHY CAMP Ages: 9 and up Camp Weeks Weeks 2-3 June 27 - July 8 Introduction to photography Weeks 4-5 July 11 - July 22 Shooting Techniques Weeks 6-7 July 25 - Aug 5 Photoshop Demonstration, Dark Room, Lighting and Development Techniques Weeks 8-9 Aug 8 - Aug 19 Scrapbooking, Formatting and Project Completion Must sign up for all 4 weeks Member: Total Cost: $143 per week Non-Member: Total Cost: $168 per week Supply cost: Total Cost: $60 $10 per week Camp Highlights: Photography summer camp will give campers an opportunity to be behind the lens. Through the four weeks campers will learn about lighting, framing, focusing, retouching and Photoshop tools. Campers will create a photo book, produce a mounted picture and produce other pictures. By learning new techniques and having fun new experiences campers will develop a life-long love of photography while forming friendships with campers who share their enthusiasm about photography. EXPLORERS ADVENTURE Ages: 8-9 years $15.00 weekly field trip fee Camp Highlights: This camp will ease your young camper into the busy world of traveling and working as a team, learning about responsibility and other core values. Y camps are all about discovery. Kids have the opportunity to explore the outdoors, find new talents, try new activities, gain independence, and make lasting friendships and memories. And, of course, it s fun too! Our Y Youth Camp encourages campers to have fun while participating in group activities, special events and trips which develop creativity, independence, and a sense of teamwork. Each camper will gain confidence and grow socially through a number of diverse activities. This group will go on one field trip per week along with some other local travel to fun destinations. * All field trip feed must be paid a week in advance. EXPLORERS I CAMP Ages: 10-12 years $25.00 weekly field trip fee Camp Highlights: This camp will ease your young camper into the busy world of traveling and working as a team, learning about responsibility and other core values. Each camper will gain confidence and grow socially through a number of diverse activities. This group will go on field trips every day and explore local destinations. Some sleepovers occur. All field trip fees must be paid a week in advance. INTERN CAMP Ages: 11-16 years Camp Highlights: Designed for teenagers looking to take the next step into young adulthood by helping with resume building, the employment application process as well as interview techniques and job readiness. This Intern Camp helps teens learn how to express themselves, come together for a common cause and become active and informed citizens. We will help teens prepare for life by teaching them professional skills that will follow them throughout their careers. Some exciting aspects of this summer experience will include dining out, sleepovers, fundraising and an end of the year field trip. Teens will enjoy normal camp activities such as swimming, field trips, baseball games and much more. Interns will have the opportunity to be involved with daily schedules of Y camps as well as coordinating The End of Summer performances. Interns will become involved in our Y Mentoring Program that gives leadership and mentoring roles with other campers. Camp T-Shirts Must be worn everyday. $10.00 Fee for Camp T-Shirts Note: There is a POTENTIAL for the Sr. intern to earn up to a $50 stipend and a Jr. intern to earn a $35 stipend every 2 weeks based upon good work. All of our camps are 10 accredited by the ACA 11

YMCA VALUE & TRADITION The Y has built a reputation on providing day camp programs that are safe, supervised and engages children in activities that keep their minds and bodies active during the summer. Summer Camp is about making positive relationships with others in a caring atmosphere. Using this framework, campers have opportunities to plan activities for themselves and their group. They also learn something new about themselves while practicing the Y character counts values. The YMCA of Pawtucket is committed to creating a fun, secure and educational environment for all children. YMCA SWIM LESSONS The Y s goal is to teach children the fundamentals of swimming, to become a better swimmer and to be safe in and around the water. Our YMCA uses the Y-USA youth progressive swimming program. It uses a problem-solving, guided-discovery teaching approach in a positive, caring environment. Swim is a student-centered, caring atmosphere by certified instructors who give students personalized attention. Lessons are developmentally appropriate and designed to quickly and effectively teach aquatic skills. Safety is our highest priority. Delinquencies: Are to be paid prior to the start of the next week. If your child(ren) attend a camp which requires a field trip fee, he/she must have a cleared balance, and the trip must be paid for the week prior. Any participant that has been delinquent three or more times will be dropped from the program. The participants slot may be fulfilled. Fees and Payments Payments in full are due at time of registration unless a credit card or draft agreement is in place as a payment plan. All Payments of fees in a payment plan will then be charged each week for camp as required on the Friday prior to the 1st day of camp and these fees are non-refundable. Trip Fee / Activity Fees Non-refundable and non-transferable, and drafted weekly with payment unless paid in full at time of registration. Transportation Children will be dropped off and picked up by parent or guardian unless transportation is provided. At time of registration, parents are required to designate authorized individuals. Sibling Discount Second child discount - 15% off camp fee Cancellation Policy / Refund Policy After June 1st - a two week written notice to cancel a week of camp is required. A $20 cancellation fee will be charged for each cancelled week. Registration, trip and activity fees and are non-refundable. No refunds for partial week absences granted. Refunds are given for medical reasons when accompanied by a doctor s note and clear evidence that the child cannot participate. Requests must be made by the last day of the camp season. Prior to June 1st - a refund of all camp fees may be granted upon written request. Dates and Holidays Refer to each camp page for the specific dates and times of camps. All Camps will be closed on Friday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day and Monday, August 11th for Victory Day. Financial Assistance The YMCA has financial aid for those families in need.
