Year 10 Parent/Carer Partnership Evening Thursday 3 rd November 2016 18:30-19:15 These slides will be made available on the school website.

Curriculum Changes Mr Hearne Senior Leadership Team

GCSEs: the main changes Main assessment is exam based (some subjects have other assessment e.g. art work portfolio, PE practical). All exams will be at the end of a two year course of study. In most subjects students will sit one exam for all abilities, only maths, sciences and languages will have different papers for different groups of students.

Grade 5 is approximately equal to a current GCSE grade C+ 4

How your child will be assessed and how will their progress be monitored? Researching and developing new practices Staff have attended training Developed Schemes of work and assessment materials Have undertaken cross school moderation All students have been given a target based on their KS2 results, their progress will be tracked against this.
