2 Timetable notes GCSE EXAMS TIMETABLE Timetable notes 1. Starting times of exs. Each ex must be taken on the day and at the time shown on the timetable. The published starting time of all exs is either 9.00 or Students taking more than one ex in a session should take these consecutively. A supervised break may be given between the exs taken consecutively at the discretion of the school/ college. 2. Schools/colleges may start an ex up to 30 minutes before the published starting time without notifying AQA. 3. Schools/colleges may delay the starting time of an ex within the scheduled session without notifying AQA but students must be supervised from 9.30 for morning exs or 2.00 for afternoon exs. 4. or information on any other timetable variations, please refer to the JCQ Instructions for conducting exinations or contact AQA Exs Office Support. 5. Students must remain under supervision until.00 for morning exs and 2.30 for afternoon exs. or exs of less than one hour s duration, students must remain under supervision for a period equal to the duration of the ex after the published starting time shown on the timetable. 6. GCSE and GCSE Applied (Double Award) exs are timetabled in common inter-board agreed slots.. Early information. Some components require the issue of question papers, stimulus material or other information in advance of the normal timetable period. Schools/colleges should check the specification for information on the material required by students. 8. Any reading time specified for an ex is included in the time specified. 9. Practical and oral units. Schools/colleges must arrange these according to the procedures indicated. Such units are not shown on the timetable except when a unit is scheduled to be taken during the ex timetable period., controlled tests and externally assessed components. marks and controlled assessments. Externally assessed coursework. GCSE Chinese (Mandarin) Unit 4, rench Unit 4, German Unit 4, Italian Unit 4, Spanish Unit 4, Urdu Unit 4 and Music Unit 2 student work for externally assessed coursework must be despatched to reach AQA s designated exiner by May Carrying forward marks for internally assessed components. Students entered for the May/ June 2014 exs may carry forward their internally assessed component marks according to the instructions enclosed with the May/June 2014 entry material. 13. Art and Design. The externally set task question papers will be despatched to schools/colleges in December 2013 on the basis of estimated entries. The externally set task must be conducted by 31 May 2014.
3 14. Media Studies. The preliminary material for Unit 481 is to be issued to students on or after 12 May GCSE Performing Arts and GCSE Performing Arts (Double Award). The Showcase unit (48802) and Chosen Commission Briefs unit (48804) question papers will be despatched to schools/colleges in November 2013 on the basis of estimated entries. The coursework submission date for Units 1 and 3 is May or Units 2 and 4 marks must reach us by 31 May GCSE Dance. The video recordings for Unit must be sent to the AQA exiner by May GCSE Expressive Arts. The material for Unit (recordings/photographs and Working Processes evidence) must be sent to the AQA exiner by May Business and Communication Systems. The controlled test (413009) must be conducted between 5 May 2014 and 9 May Modern oreign Language tests. The speaking tests for Bengali Unit 3, Modern ebrew Unit 3, Panjabi Unit 3 and Polish Unit 3 must be despatched to the AQA exiner on or before 15 May The speaking tests for certificates in rench, German and Spanish should be conducted between 24 April 2014 and 15 May unctional Mathematics. Pre-release material can be issued to students on or after 31 March ICT Level and ICT Level may be conducted between 12 May 2014 and 16 May ree-standing Mathematics Qualifications. Data sheets for 4983 and 4986 should be issued to students between 21 April 2014 and 4 May ree-standing Mathematics Qualifications. Data sheets for 4982 and 4985 should be issued to students between 25 April 2014 and 9 May ree-standing Mathematics Qualifications. Data sheets for 4988 should be issued to students between 22 April 2014 and 6 May ree-standing Mathematics Qualifications. Data sheets for 4981 and 4984 should be issued to students between 1 May 2014 and 15 May Certificate in Use of Mathematics. Data sheets should be issued to students between 28 April 2014 and 12 May Results for the May/June 2014 exs will be released as follows: unctional Skills and Vocationally Related Qualifications: electronically to schools/colleges: Wednesday 13 August 2014 available to students: Thursday 14 August All other awards: electronically to schools/colleges: Wednesday 20 August 2014 available to students: Thursday 21 August 2014.
