Getting Started with Wisconsin Public Library Consortium OverDrive dbooks.wplc.info Signing In 1. Click on Sign In located in the top right corner. 2. Select Bridges from the drop down menu. 3. Enter the number on the back of your library card and your library PIN number. 4. If you are using a personal device, check Remember my card number on this device to save your information 5. Click on Sign In. 1
Downloading OverDrive ebooks to an Phones & Tablets with Apps Before you begin you will need... An Android device (Samsung or Nexus Tablet), an Apple ios device (iphone or ipad), a Nook Tablet, a Kindle Fire, or a Windows device (MS Surface) Internet access via WIFI. A username and password for the App Store on your device. NOTE: The exact look of the OverDrive App will vary slightly on different devices. Downloading the OverDrive App and finding your library 1. Visit the App Store on your smartphone or tablet. 2. Search for OverDrive Media Console and install the app (this will require a username and password for the device App Store). 3. Open the OverDrive Media Console. 4. Under Already have an account? choose SIGN IN followed by Sign in using Library Card. 5. Search by location for Watertown, WI and select Bridges Library System - Watertown. 6. Sign in to your library by selecting Bridges Library System from the drop down menu and using your library card and PIN*. *If you do not know your PIN, call the library at 920-262-4090. Please have your card number ready. 7. Select Add a Library, search for 53094, choose Bridges Library System - Watertown and select Wisconsin Public Library Consortium. Finding and downloading ebooks 1. Select Sign-In and choose Watertown Public Library (Bridges Library System). 2. Use you Library Card Number (with no spaces) and PIN to log in to OverDrive. 3. Browse or Search for ebooks that you want to download. 4. Click on the title of the book you would like to checkout. 5. Click on the arrow next to the Borrow button to select a lending period (7, 14, 21 days). If the lending period listed is correct skip this step. You can permanently select a lending period in your settings. 6. Click Borrow to check out the ebook. (NOTE: Some items may have a waiting list, Place Hold to be added to the list). 7. Click Add To App. 8. Go to your Bookshelf, located under the menu to find your book. 9. Tap the title or cover of your book to begin reading. 10. Your ebook will automatically be returned on its due date. Downloading OverDrive ebooks to Your Kindle Before you download you will need... An Amazon Kindle, Kindle Fire or Kindle App. An Amazon.com account A computer with an internet connection or a Kindle Fire with WIFI. Check out an ebook for Kindle and Transfer to a Kindle or Kindle App: 1. Sign in to Overdrive, Wisconsin s Digital Library (dbooks.wplc.info) by selecting Watertown Public Library (Bridges Library System) and using your Library Card # and PIN* *If you do not know your PIN, call the library at 920-262-4090. Please have your card number ready. 2. Browse or search for an ebook in Kindle Book format that you want to download. 3. Click on the title of the book you would like to checkout. 4. Click on the arrow next to the Borrow button to select a lending period (7, 14, 21 days). If the lending period listed is correct skip this step. You can permanently select a lending period in your settings. 5. Click Borrow to check out the ebook. (NOTE: Some items may have a waiting list, Place Hold to be added to the list). 6. Go to the Loans page in My Account to download your book. Click Choose Format and select EPUB or PDF, then click Confirm. 7. Click Download and select Kindle Book. NOTE: EPUB and PDF formats will not work with Amazon Kindles. 8. You will automatically be redirected to Amazon.com. 9. Sign in to your Amazon.com account. 10. Choose your device from the Deliver to drop down menu, click Get Library Book. 11. The ebook will be delivered wirelessly to your Kindle or Kindle App, from your device menu select Sync & Check for Items. 12. Downloading OverDrive ebooks to Your Portable Device Before you download you will need... A compatible portable ereader device, such as the Nook Simple Touch, Sony Reader, Kobo or any device that supports the Adobe Content Server and epub ebooks. Adobe Digital Editions installed and activated on your personal computer with internet connection. It is available free of charge at www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/ An Adobe ID, available free of charge from www.adobe.com. Notes: Both your ereader and your computer must be authorized with the same Adobe ID. You will be prompted to authorize your device when you open Adobe Digital Editions. Check out and download to your person computer... 1. After you download an ebook to your computer, you can transfer it to a compatible portable device. 1. Connect your compatible ereader device to your computer. 2. Locate the device icon in the left hand menu in Adobe Digital Editions. 3. In Library View, drag the ebook title to the icon. 4. The ebook will appear on the home page or documents page of your device, this differs by device. Help Menu: To access the Help in Adobe Digital Editions, select Help item in the Library drop-down menu. To access the Help for OverDrive, select Help from the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Renewing Items with Wisconsin Public Library Consortium OverDrive dbooks.wplc.info OverDrive now allows users to renew and place advance holds on items you currently have checked out. Items can only be renewed once. NOTE: The option to renew currently checked out items will become available 72 hours (three days) before the checkout expires. Renewing an Item 1. Log into OverDrive (Wisconsin s Digital Library) and go to your Account. 2. On your library Loans page, locate the item you would like to renew. 3. Click on the Request Again button below the cover image. 4. Enter your email address and click Submit. 5. Once you renew a title, it will say Requested under the cover image. 5. If there are no other holds on the item, it will be automatically checked out to you (unless you do not have automatic checkout enabled). If there are other holds on the title, you will be placed on the hold list and the item will be automatically checked out when it is available (unless you do not have automatic checkout enabled).
