Job Description Reporting Line This position reports to the Head of Project Management for your specific practice although you will also report into, and be guided by, the lead Consultant or Partner of your practice. On a practical basis most work will be directed through the Consultant(s) in your practice, and the Head of Project Management will offer functional, operational and developmental guidance. The current Heads of Project Management are: Michelle Scanlon (Global Higher Education, Global Non-Profit and Schools) Malulie Tongprasert (Global Chairs and Professors) Hours This position is full time, 8.30am-6pm Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am to 5.30pm on Fridays with up to one hour for lunch. From time to time the role of Project Manager may require you to work outside of these hours. The Team The Project Management Team at Perrett Laver is responsible for ensuring our clients, candidates and colleagues receive world-class administration across all areas of the business. Project Management at Perrett Laver encompasses the smooth running of the appointment process from engagement through to placement; all diary management for the delivery teams; all client and candidate logistics; and some front of house and events duties. Role Specification The Role The role requires a person of considerable talent and commitment who has the highly developed organisational skills and abilities to proactively juggle multiple tasks and perform them with accuracy, along with bringing excellent attention to detail and initiative to solve problems. Excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritise, multitask and remain calm and professional under pressure are all keys to success in this role. There is substantial contact with both clients and candidates, and as such highly developed interpersonal and communication skills are essential, including a strong customer service ethos, both internally and externally and an appreciation of the importance of responsibility, discretion and integrity. Key Accountabilities The main responsibilities of the post are outlined below. However, as with all employees of Perrett Laver, the willingness to be flexible and take on additional tasks and responsibilities when appropriate is essential. Business Development Devise and implement a strategic business development plan alongside your consultant and the Head of Business Development and to be accountable for ensuring that the agreed milestones, as set forth in your personal development, plan are met. Proactively provide business development support though driving business development activity and strategically managing your consultant s diary. Organising business development meetings and events as relevant to your consultant and/or team. Proactively work alongside your consultant to arrange business development trips. Promote sales activity in the team through the development and management of effective market tracking and activity tools. Project Support and Business Unit / functional team support Manage varying numbers of projects, with differing levels of complexity, and potentially with a range of different practice groups. Continuously strive to develop and improve internal delivery team communications and interactions; working as an extension of the Consultant to get the best out of each process. Be a champion for quality and precision in Project Management; ensuring the output from the delivery team is both consistent and of an excellent calibre. 3
Act as a reliable and primary channel for incoming communications for the practice group and providing excellent liaison in respect of candidates, clients, new business and troubleshooting. Act as an extension of the Consultant when required, such as attending pitches, client process kick-off/briefing meetings in or outside the office; supporting in the timely production of process documents; account management; and appointment end game (for example, taking interview feedback and liaising with the client and candidate at offer stage). Represent Project Management both internally and externally; be a role model; inspire and support team colleagues, set a positive tone for work delivery contribute to a strong team spirit and work ethic. Be a key asset in relation to training and developing both new and more junior colleagues. In collaboration with the Heads of Project Management, support the drive of quality initiatives across the team. Lead and develop new innovations within project management and administration. Show commitment to knowledge-management across your immediate team and the wider firm in order to ensure that best practice and innovations are shared. Engage with and lead on special projects, as directed by the Head(s) of Project Management. Ensure the efficient running and maintenance of our office space. The ideal candidate will possess: An aptitude for effortless project management.
