International Business Management Berlin School of Economics and Law In a globalised business world international competence is becoming increasingly important. Companies expect employees to possess not only a sound knowledge of theories and management techniques, but also complementary skills, languages and intercultural capabilities. To equip graduates with a broad range of business skills combined with a thorough knowledge of the environment in which the firms operate, the Berlin School of Economics and Law has developed a four-year Bachelor s programme in International Business Management. By combining a high standard of academic teaching with extensive exposure to practical experience in the business world, students will gain a wide-ranging understanding of modern international business. The selected group of around 35 students per semester will include participants from all around the world. The international character of the programme will be evident both in the content of the courses and in the facilities for developing language skills. Teaching will take place exclusively in English. Students will study an additional language, with courses provided in French, Spanish, Chinese, Russian or German for non-german speaking students. The first two years of the programme will be spent at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. In the third year, German students will spend two semesters at one of the partner universities. This will be followed by an internship at an international company abroad. Students will then spend the eighth and final semester at the Berlin School of Economics and Law writing their Bachelor s thesis. The Bachelor s degree will provide graduates of the programme in»international Business Management«with an internationally recognised qualification. This will enable them to embark on a business career or to pursue further studies in a Master s programme, either in Europe or further afield. The Berlin School of Economics and Law (BSEL) is one of the largest Universities of Applied Sciences in the city. It has an academic staff of about 200 professors and approxi mately 840 lecturers, plus nearly 280 research and admini strative personnel, committed to realising about 50 study programmes. The BSEL portfolio provides a wide range of professional qualifications. The University forms an academic centre specialised in business and administration skills for the public and private sector, as well as public security, the law and engineering. The majority of programmes lead to a Bachelor or Master degree, have been quality controlled and bear the seal of the Accreditation Council. The BSEL offers a pleasant, modern atmosphere that is ideal for studying. The programmes comprise small class courses where each student has a chance to interact with the faculty and their peers. The campus offers well equipped seminar and lecture rooms, an extensive library and several fully equipped computer rooms. With numerous networking activities, excellent corporate contacts and a close relationship with more than 150 partner universities worldwide, we guarantee that student life is enhanced by applied expertise and an international approach. 2 Berlin School of Economics and Law International Business Management 3
