2 Study location Hof is a small town in the northern part of Bavaria and located in the heart of Europe. Hof has 4,000 citizens. Hof s region shows the second-highest industrial density across Europe, specialized in manufacturing machinery, plastic (automobile) parts, ceramics and textiles. 3 Study Starting in October 2016 Hof University of Applied Sciences offers a new continuing education Master s degree. The module-based Master s program Operational Excellence gives you a holistic understanding of a supply chain. Based on quality and price targets of the customers and financial demand of the company we discuss how to manage international supply chains, how to ensure the quality demands from the customer and how to make production more efficient. In this context we introduce you the concept of lean production and explain the chances production 4.0 can offer. We discuss the concept of M2M-solutions, success factors of M2M solutions and show you the correlation between the analysis of unstructured data and production 4.0. Lessons will be taught in English. Hence this Master s program is ideal for international oriented graduates of Business, Economics, Engineering and Informatic who already have professional experience. 4 Course Structure The Master s program standard period of study is four semesters, in total two years. The first two semesters provide practice orientated theory (case studies, working in labs, excursions, expert meetings...). The third and fourth semester is spent working as an intern in a human resource department to gain more practical experience; during each practical semester one modul will be taken as a block-week. The Master s Thesis has to be written during this time as well. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.). 6 Admission Requirements Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor s degree or similar from an accredited university (Business, Economics, Engineering or Informatic). Additionally, you need excellent academic language skills in English (proven by IELTS 6. or above, TOEFL 90 or similar). Plus the current student union fee of per semester. For scholarships, please check Accommodation and living expenses in Hof are comparably modest and can be estimated at around 400 to 700 per month, including rent and food. Health insurance (about 70 per month) is not included in this estimate.
