These are difficult economic times. But whether you are in manufacturing, services or non-profit organization, the way to remain profitable and grow is not by retreating, but by going on the offensive with innovation to develop new and improved products and services. But many companies have challenges moving into high gear in innovation: Understanding of the key parameters in innovation is almost non-existent There s a lack of game-changing new products and services Good solid best-practice processes for innovation are missing There s lack of proper and practical frameworks to guide innovation Innovation leadership is almost non-existent Many misconceptions and half-truths about innovation persist in organizations
These are major issues that seriously detract from your company s current and future performance. And they demand answers and solutions if your company is to use innovation as the key plank on which to compete and be truly successful. To meet this need, CEIBS offer intensive 3-day seminars/ workshops on how to initiate, implement and improve your innovation management capability to realize higher success rates and increase profits. In each of the following 3 seminars, we will delve into how to attack and solve some of the critical problems you face in using innovation management as the key competitive weapon. Join me in learning what best practices in innovation management some businesses have already discovered and are successfully applying. Recent testimonial Kwaku, this is Chuck Chang from TrendMicro. I really enjoyed the customer-centric innovation class you facilitated in Taipei. It gives me some new thoughts and breaks the way I think about innovation. Steve Chang founder and chairman, Trend Micro one of the world s leaders in computer security business. Program 1-1 : Customer-Centric Innovation Many companies in emerging economies have comparatively limited technology and weaker international market experience and resources than Western multinationals. What mindsets and models should underpin innovation strategies for companies? This workshop explains the logic behind the customer outcome-based innovation (COBI) model developed at the CEIBS Center for Marketing & Innovation. COBI is based on a set of defining principles to systematically minimize risks and maximize opportunities when attempting innovation in an emerging economy. This workshop is designed to train executives in these basic principles for systematically applying the COBI Strategy, its tools and analytical frameworks to create new customer value propositions. At the end of the program participants should understand how to make the customer a key center of the company s innovation effort.
Program 1-2 : Innovation Leadership There is a pervasive trend in business today in which organizations face considerable difficulty in maintaining the innovative competence and edge beyond one function and/ or a few key individuals. Yet, building an organization-wide innovation competence and mindset in which every employee, manager and function takes on responsibility for is the key to sustainable competitive advantage. The overall objective of this program is to provide participants with the tools to lead innovation in their organizations, divisions, teams and workplace. Participants will explore the key ingredients of innovation culture and the leadership practices and processes to support people to innovative. In particular you will learn how to: Create and sustain the foundations of an innovative enterprise; Speed-up and encourage both sustaining and breakthrough innovations; Build a vibrant innovation culture; Conduct an innovation audit; and relate concepts and frameworks to reflect on the innovation challenges in your organization. Program 1-3 : Service Innovation With increased foreign and local service competition, successful growth and sustained competitive advantage will depend on service innovation. Yet, the industry mantra is that service innovations are so easy to copy and that it is impossible to make innovation more predictable and sustainable. If your company is like most, you've bought into this mantra. Perhaps, it's time to take a look at new ways of enhancing your advantage through effective and sustainable service innovation. Using our proven and practical methodology called the Whole Service Model (WSM) along with our 360 degree approach to innovation and real-life case studies, this hands-on workshop will help you identify customers service requirements and to understand how these could be incorporated in your new service design. You will understand the essential models and logics that underlie successful service innovation, appreciate the key components of successful new service design model, how to develop a winning services innovation through a systematic but flexible service innovation process, and finally work with your team to design an entirely new service model and/or improve in an existing service. This exclusive workshop will take you one step further to create service features and benefits that customers will pay a premium for.
